Re: Windows 7 64bit Compatibility For ALL Tools ??

Ummmm I know for some software if it doesn't have a certified driver or w/e, Windows 7 and Windows Vista (x64 only) will complain and not let it run. Worst case scenario, if you're running...

Re: Student Leadership

First we have a student elected President, Vice President, and Treasurer which at this point is more to satisfy Student Council requirements than anything...

Re: Nostalgic & Happy Moments At The World Championship In Atlanta Over the Past 7 Ye

Oh how could I forget George H. W. Bush's comment in 2008:
"FIRST is like the WWF, but for smart people"

Re: Congratulations 461 for Championship Best Website Award

Agreed. I think we can assume that spitting out PHP errors for example, is bad, but certain design elements may be appealing to some people and not to others (e.g. the black diamond plate background...

Re: Congratulations 461 for Championship Best Website Award

Although this question deserves its own topic, we would be happy to help in whatever way we can as long as we know what we need to do. We've received several requests for help which did not specify...

Re: Nostalgic & Happy Moments At The World Championship In Atlanta Over the Past 7 Ye

I didn't think that perfect scores were still possible given the ridiculous number of things they have on the mission list now, but I was shown wrong on I think Thursday when I looked at the Einstein...

Re: Nostalgic & Happy Moments At The World Championship In Atlanta Over the Past 7 Ye

For me and likely the rest of our website crew, it's undoubtedly winning that Website Award. After a fiasco in 2008 when the website effectively took a step backwards, we set our sights on bringing...

I thought that was from The Core, but I haven't seen Armageddon, so I wouldn't know.

Re: Funny things to ask for on the PA system

How about something to repair our dilithium chambers while we're at it?
I'd mention unobtanium, but if somebody falls for that one...

Re: Funny things to ask for on the PA system

Yeah we sent one of our people at BMR to ask for an AC battery because an alum of our team was working pit admin.

I cite Clarke's Three Laws of Prediction (couldn't resist)

Re: Penalties for a part falling off of robot?

Honestly, it's not easy to make an absolute statement about this. As an example, if you drop a single bolt or a nut, I don't know that it should be called. However, if for example (with something...

Re: Does your team use Laptops for Scouting?

What we had planned to do is have 6 laptops connected to a server. At Boilermaker, we somewhat cheated because we had access to Purdue Airlink, and therefore could go through the internet without...

Re: Tipping opponents robots

The only cards that I've seen given for tipping somebody were G34s in which the robot attempting to elevate was rammed repeatedly.

Re: Opinions: The importance of elevation/suspension

Identical situation at Buckeye if I remember correctly, although not true at the Boilermaker Regional. Honestly though, at Buckeye, there were very few robots that could hang that were really any...

Opinions: The importance of elevation/suspension

At the Buckeye Regional this weekend, it seemed that many of the teams believed that hanging was fairly unimportant, and thus were told not to hang on multiple occasions (in most cases, we did...

Re: What Type of Robot Are You?

At this point in time I would say that my team's robot falls in the "average" category by the definitions given for the ends of the field, and between "below average" and "average" for the middle. ...

As for staying in the school, it was fun staying...
