Re: Eliminating "Start Build Day"

A number of questions have been raised in my mind by the different perspectives shared in the thread.

I think that advancing Kick Off to mid or late September would better address the issues (at...

Re: North Championship vs South Championship

I don't recall seeing an announcement concerning the number of teams which will be invited to attend the Championship events in 2017.

What is the source of the 400 teams per event?

The May 5, 2015...

Re: What can FIRST do to increase FRC team sustainability?

I support the idea of eliminating Bag & Tag. I believe it will improve the mean quality of robots at events beyond their initial event. I also believe that it will reduce the cost to teams...

Re: What can FIRST do to increase FRC team sustainability?

After performing some analysis of the data shared earlier by a poster, I think that rather than asking what can FIRST do, we should be talking to the teams which have been able to sustain their...

I added a new version which incorporated some of the feedback and generated a "Survival Rates" graph. Picture pending

Re: paper: FRC Participation

Thanks for checking the equations. I corrected my editing error and made both calculations using the previous year's total in the denominator.

Re: 2016 IRI - Rule Changes and Reasoning

The G13 modification does not mention the award of a crossing to the robot...

Re: Strategy during Final at Einstein

Their strategy was correct, in my opinion. In fact, after their first Quarter Final match, I thought that they should switch to a defensive strategy ... and they did.

It served them well to get to...

Re: 2016 IRI Rule Change Suggestions

Fair point, but this is off-season and teams have time to make functional improvements. Still, my first choice would be to change nothing.
