Re: New Off-season Defenses
That wasn't the only casualty, one of 1678's alumni/mentors also broke two of her fingers setting it up at the Sacramento regional.

Re: Windows versus Mac
Apple and Linux OSes are much more convenient for people who do a lot of programming, but I personally use windows because so many of the applications I use are designed for, or only run, on windows.

Re: Rethinking the Low bar
Acceleration is a force and therefore would affect the direction of your footprint projection. The footprint is projected in the direction of all forces acting on the robot, I just said gravity...

Re: REQUEST: I want your scouting info
Talk to 1114 and (*correction*) 2834, they collect world competition data and compile it into a huge spread sheet every year. You may want to work with them in collecting data.

Re: Cheesecake robot. How far is too far?
If you didn't bother challenging the harpoons, then they'd just pull them to their side where I believe they had the ability to release/use them. They absolutely intended to get in a tug of war, but...

Re: Is OPR an accurate measurement system?
This comes up pretty much every year, the best answer is "it's okay", but the most important part is to understand how it's derived which Jared explained very well. If you understand what it actually...

Re: FRC Boulder Smell Database
The tread they use is actually manufactured for food service conveyer belts. They add vanilla scent to the rubber so that your entire kitchen doesn't smell like a tire factory.

Re: Don't Ban Can Battles in Offseasons
The danger he's referring to is the stored energy in most canburglars. If something breaks, that 200mph aluminum spear has no qualms about going straight through you. Even with multiple failsafes...

Re: Rescuing wet electronics
Number one concern is any minerals/salts in the water that contacted the parts. Rain water is pretty clean but not necessarily entirely exempt from containing this contaminants so whether it was rain...

We were having the same debate on our team recently too, we also thought this was one of the first times that robots would beat humans, there is no possible way any human could be fast enough to grab...

Re: Newton Division 2015
I'm not gonna lie, I don't feel nearly that confident, if we're not the fastest then we have a very slim chance of winning anything. No one has any idea how fast anyone else is. No matter how fast we...

Re: can grabbers fastest?
Although that would be neat I don't think any of the fastest teams would be interested in doing it until they either get knocked out, or the event ends. Most teams that are racing don't want the...
