Re: Drop Center Distance

We used a 1/8" drop this year. In previous years we have always used either a 1/8" or 1/16" drop and been fine. For most games though I would recommend going with a 1/8" drop.

Re: Swerve vs. Butterfly Drivetrain

I actually think swerve was a very good solution for 2014 and we enjoyed having it in 2015. Back in 2014 it was a lot harder to play defense on a swerve bot with a good driver then it was to play...

So we had forklifts in 2015 and now front end loaders in 2017. First has really embraced the industrial side of robotics.

Re: Best Robots Not To Qualify For Champs

Honestly a big name that I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet is Wave, 2826. They always build a quality robot and they were the alliance captain at the Minnesota North Star regional where they...

Re: Preferred Scoring Element

I could see the game actually including hockey pucks next year. It won't be any sort of a round ball because the trend for the past few years has been round balls every other year. In my opinion the...

Re: Best Scaling Bot This Season?

1538 hands down had one of the best climbs I saw this season. It was fast and reliable plus they hit the high goal dunk after they climbed.

Re: Motor sizing

By 18" inch diameter I'm guessing your building a circular robot??? What is it going to do, just curious. For your motors you should probably using CIMs just because you won't ruin them if you happen...

Re: What types of metal do you use for your robot in general?

In your original post you have the basic flat sheet aluminum. But if you go down that road you also need to understand the different types and how to use it. First off you need to have a dedicated...

Pits opened at 8 AM and we had quals going by 9. Quals ended by 8:15 and pits closed at 9 PM. The field was actually running ahead of schedule by 15 minutes at one point.  :ahh:...
