Re: 2015 Lessons Learned: The Negative

There was actually More deliberation time required this year, due to the merging of the sub-division fields. I judged on Tesla. We followed the normal process, and eventually got down to a team...

Re: "Spare Parts" in theaters nationwide Jan. 16!

Very awesome movie. I had a question though. I'm assuming that the ROV that the team made was somewhat realistic, what was the need for the Digital Sidecar since they already had one of the old IFI...

Re: Tips for Team Promotion to Scouts

Very good advice. We also base our picks solely on performance and not on marketing, except during certain circumstances. This year, more than most the ranking system is very bad at determining how...

Re: [DFTF] Camera as Remote Eyes...

Right, same here, forgot to mention it. We are using a newer laptop with 4 GB RAM, 17"? screen and running Windows 7. We needed the screen size for both cameras, plus the Kinect software was super...

Re: [DFTF] Camera as Remote Eyes...

Hit the nail on the head. We are using 2 camera's, one for alignment for our shooter and another for our ball intake/bridge pusher. We power both off the 5V Wago supply using a terminal strip.

We...

Re: Introducing: CowScout

I found the following bugs with this software:
1. The Offensive/Defensive score for a team is reported to be 0/10. For the team in question I put in random numbers for both (not 0) and this still is...

Re: [DFTF] Motor & wires...

For us, the BB motor terminals seem a little fragile and have broken off a few times. So now, our process is to crimp a spade terminal on a wire, solder the terminal to the motor (carefully) and...

I've heard a lot of good things about these and we tried to use them but we had some problems. Unfortunately I do not have the correct P/N's of the components we used right now but here is what I...

Re: Driver Station cannot connect to cRio

No joystick is required for this.

What is the IP address of your computer? The DS expects it to be a .6 address in order to use it as a local Dashboard. An easy to fix for this is to set your team...

Re: How to make sequence happen ONCE, Period!

I'm not going to attempt troubleshooting the logic on this. Here are a few suggestions though.
1. You really should put your switch reads in a loop in Periodic Tasks. It is more of a safety net...

Re: Driver Station Errors

Are you actually having a problem when using the Robot? In my experience this error isn't a big deal if it throws it every now and then (such as when you Enable) but you will get a lag issue if it...

Re: Introducing: CowScout

CowScout looks like a great program! We are going to investigate using it at our next Regional. After looking at this for a bit, I have a few questions:
1. My team's (1208) are inaccurate in Cow...

Re: paper: How to Get Multiple Cameras on Robot

Maybe it's too late for me, but with this line of logic wouldn't the robot radio be rebooting as well? Since it is not, I don't necessarily agree with this. And isn't that the point of the 12V-5V...
