Re: 2013 ACTUAL game hint!!!
I don't think Seal will suddenly show up at kickoff to perform, but I do think there could be another meaning.
There's the animal, which people have mentioned previously.
Then there's multiple...

The National Weather Service is keeping a close eye on any weather developments. There was a Tornado Warning earlier, but was canceled shortly afterwards as the storm moved out of the area. The St....

Re: The missing feature: A common thread
I think many teams need to take the time to stop and look for weaknesses in their designs. Kinda related to Amdahl's law (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amdahl's_law), you want everything to work fast,...

Re: Sippin' on the haterade
A few years ago, our team went to a competition. While waiting in the queue for the next match, a person from another team on our alliance looked at a NASA sticker on the side of the robot, and said...

Re: 2012 New York City Regional
Hmm... If Red didn't do crazy defense that gave Blue 21 foul points in final match 3, they might have had a better chance of winning.

Wow, crazy defense Final match 2...
Lots of fouls from both teams during the heavy pushing matches too...
Red was able to stop blue from doing another triple balance, though...
EDIT: Lots of things...

Wow, that last-second balance in Semi 1-2 was something! Score was 28-27 and Blue managed to double balance to win 28-47, literally at the last second...

Re: Predictions Week 3: Full Court Press
Also, could the people in the stands with those huge team-number-signs-on-sticks please lower them a bit? It's great to cheer on teams and everything, but not when you're holding up giant signs that...

Re: 2012 MAR Rutgers University District
Hi guys! I was watching the webcast today. Seemed a bit stuttery at first, but worked fine later on.
Anybody know where I can get match scores and rankings so far? It seems FIRST's website is giving...

Re: 2012 Team Update 4
The alternate "Bondé" radio is bigger, heavier, and has external antennas, compared to the more compact radio with internal antennas currently being used. I'm guessing the DIR-825 simply has better...

This is just a guess, but check to make sure you wired the router to the power distribution board properly. We had a similar issue last year.
It shouldn't be connected to the main black/red outputs,...

Re: Axis 206 vs. Axis M1011
Both use the same sized 1/4" sensor, and both have the same lens aperture of F/2.0, so there shouldn't be much difference in how they handle badly-lit environments. This shouldn't be an issue, as the...

Re: Tube scoring idea
Don't forget that for this to work you would have to line yourself up with the hoops. You would be out of the "key" zone, so other robots could easily push you out of alignment.

Our team's minibot used a similar switch. We passed inspection at the NYC Regional. We brought the packaging that said something like "Toggling lamp light switch" just in case, but we didn't have any...

Re: Week 2: Any new lessons learned?
A minibot can help you win many qualification matches, as long as it can be deployed reliably and consistently. Tubes play somewhat of a lesser role here, but they can help when minibots fail to...

Does anybody know of any recorded match videos? The feed from the projector screen with commentary would be nice (the cameramen actually seemed to be paying attention), but anything will do.

I also agree with this. Although it may look visible when viewing up close, it is usually quite difficult to see from the stands. A black permanent marker may work as a quick fix, but try to use...

Re: Lessons learned for Week 2 Regionals?
Minibots can win a match, if you can actually properly deploy them in time. I noticed a lot of teams, even "good" ones, trip up and miss the pole, or have the minibot fall off the deployer, or not...
