Re: New AndyMark Product Game Hint???

It looks like this (http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-0293.htm), but it doesn't seem to have been altered from its current version.

Re: pic: ???

It's an octagonal frame and belly pan, standing on its side. Given the lack of wheel cutouts along the edge closest to the table, and various holes placed elsewhere, it is uses four omni wheel, one...

Re: Getting Started with Sensors

Encoders, multi-turn potentiometers, and photo-reflective sensors can all be useful in FRC. If you have any Talon SRX motor controllers, I would recommend experimenting with using encoders for speed...

Re: Scariest Robot

About a decade ago, Team 118 made a couple of robots posed a rather visible above-average risk to nearby fingers, etc.. I don't believe either one ever actually caused any serious injury in this...

Re: pic: Piston-in-Tube Concept

Any weight that can be shaved off is more weight for future improvements. Furthermore, if you wanted to place the mount near the nose of the cylinder anyway, the method I proposed would not present...

Re: pic: Piston-in-Tube Concept

Isn't a pneumatic cylinder on its own already a piston-in-tube device?

.
.
You could shave some weight off if you used a bracket to secure a tube to the nose of the cylinder so that only the piston...

Re: pic: Things you couldn't do again if you tried

Sounds like your Z-domain poles escaped from the unit circle. If it weren't for the limits imposed by the motors, the controllers, and the battery, it would probably be even more violent.

Re: pic: MVRE-109, high-recision shafted encoder

As long as there are no positrons, it shouldn't be too bad.

<sorry, that was off topic>

Re: Pockets on Women's Pants

Golf pants are awesome! They are breathable, lightweight, and they look good. Unfortunately, the pockets are one of the few flaws that I have experienced with golf pants. The pockets of men's golf...

Re: Using a 775pro in Dusty Conditions

That word is the longest word in the Oxford English Dictionary.
It isn't that hard to pronounce. You just have to break it up into parts:

Done (http://rcdn-4.fishpond.co.nz/0028/814/129/25315987/6.jpeg)

The result is smaller than the original because I had to oversample, which naturally discards a certain amount of information. The...

Thumbs up Re: pic: Everything in the tube drive (too late to turn back now)

Now, what would it take to get the motors inside the tube? They are fairly high on the list of components that get in the way, so that should be a priority. (2.5" motors fit in 2" tubes,...

Re: Future FRC Technologies?

This would actually be a good one to try to tackle, but perhaps not to the extent that you are hoping for. Currently, the programming for FRC is largely done by implementing the predefined abstract...

Re: Predictions: The Return of One Championship?

Since a 4-level system has issues, perhaps the DCMP level could be dropped and the top n(%) of teams from each district (and maybe the winners of any remaining regionals) could immediately advance to...

That does not appear to be a pneumatic wheel.

That is technically an inflatable mandrel for a sanding drum. I don't know too much about these. It could be an interesting experiment, but I think...

Re: LEGO Stronghold

Re: Mecanum wheels on the front, regular wheels on the back

Re: Mecanum wheels on the front, regular wheels on the back

Well, assuming you want to power all of the wheels, the forces generated by mecanum wheels has been discussed extensively (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2390). Similar analysis can be done...
