Re: Split Champs assignment
Well one thing I did note, was that outside of Canada, all of the international countries with FRC Regional events got assigned to Houston. I find that an interesting im balance.
Thoughts?

Re: 2016 Championship Harassment Survey
Not only does this happen among students, but several volunteers including myself end up getting tagged. Personally, I'm never thrilled when I get tagged. It's a little creepy, and I don't want the...

Re: Being a FIRST Alumni
Volunteer at events.
My senior year of high school I started getting involved volunteering. It really allowed me to continue to get my FIRST fix, while being accommodating to my college student...

When does the practice field close at an event?
At most of my events, we generally speaking will follow the practice of keeping it open until the end of Quarterfinals. We then proceed to break it down. This is part of a larger strategy to have as...

Re: Are 8 play regional reasonable?
Andrew was referring (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1569846&postcount=144) to the 2016 UMass District Event, where all of qualification matches were ran on Day 1 due to impending...

Re: How do I help my area move to districts?
It costs more than trucking, I can say that. It's certainly not a cheaper alternative to trucks, and we're always evaluating whether the extra expense is worth it or not. As Phil mentioned, we mainly...

Re: How do I help my area move to districts?
In NE at least, we stock all consumables at the beginning of the season, labeled and allocated out to events, just as FIRST does on regional fields. (We also ship all carpets, something FIRST does...

Re: NY Districts - POA
I don't think there's anything inherently against that. However the rules forcing teams that live in district boundaries requiring them to partake in the district system still would apply.
It's an...

Re: NY Districts - POA
Yes thats a possibility. The thing to keep in mind is that RDs etc. are often hired for their expertise in organizing non-profits, growth, and fundraising. NOT event planning. These are two entirely...

Re: NY Districts - POA
Finding someone to do run events exclusively as their job is going to be rough. Hiring freelancers to come in for part of the year to organize your events, is something doable. An idea to consider.

Re: How do I help my area move to districts?
From an outsider's perspective: One problem I think MN has is that the entire state is run by one RPC. Most other districts took several RPCs, and combined them, allowing for a wealth of expertise....

Hi Brian,
64 is the correct number and what we're planning for. We've been working with HQ to resolve this discrepancy. The available slots on the FIRST website just recently got updated to 64. We...

Re: Are 8 play regional reasonable?
Here is one thing to realize. Local leadership fighting districts will certainly delay the switch, but if HQ wishes for it to happen, sooner or later it will.

This seems really cool! I'd love for you to keep sharing about the continued success of this. If it works well, future expansion to other districts would be a nice thing to see.

Re: Video: Robot Crashing Through Field
The thing is, the official parts are designed to a higher quality than what we've seen in shops and Week 0 events. I think it will be unlikely.
Even if it happens, the spare and replacement...
