Re: Curve Driving Generator
Bezier curves are defined by a formula that can be generalized for any degree, but for the most common, degree 3, the equation for any point along the curve is: B(t) = (1 - t)^3 * P0 + 3 * (1 - t)^2...

Re: Curve Driving Generator
The reason I suggested them is because they are parametric, so I thought they might be easier to deal with, and also you can control the shape of the curve in without changing the tangents at the...

Re: Curve Driving Generator
I personally think that Bezier curves are the easiest to deal with, especially if you want a particular tangent on the endpoints. I would recommend reading this...

Re: Java coding
I see a big problem with this. operatorControl() is only called once, not continuously, so you need to put all your drive code and whatnot in that method in a loop so it will run more than just once....

Re: Robot Tyco Drummer?
I didn't intend for that, but that could be an added functionality. It could "listen" to the other drummers and attempt to keep the same tempo!

Re: RPM calculator
No, I think Joe is right. The Encoder class is for quadrature encoders which use two signals, and this encoder the OP is trying to use only has one signal and if I'm not mistaken produces a different...

Re: Robot Tyco Drummer?
That would be simpler certainly, but I was thinking it would be cooler to have a humanoid one, not to mention more of a challenge.

Robot Tyco Drummer?
I recently had a challenge proposed by a friend in our school's tyco drumming club: a tyco robot! Any ideas or examples?
I was intrigued by how controlled and quick the arms (assuming it was a...

Re: Waiting to connect to OTA command server
Yeah we've had problems with Netbeans before where it would stop producing output, but the code was still running. I can't really remember, but it might have been right at the point you're...

Re: 1M1011 Camera help
You might need to modify the default dashboard in order to see the camera there. I think there was a post on CD about how to modify it specifically to see the camera.
Also, can you get the camera...

I just wondering how I would get that image with my team's record from the Blue Alliance in my signature. I've seen so many other people with it, but I couldn't figure out how to get it.

Re: Gyro Autobalancing
If other teams have done it, I stand corrected, but I guess what I really was getting at was that these robots that we're developing in FIRST (or at least our team's) aren't ideal for balancing. Our...

Not to discourage you or anything, but has anyone actually tried this and gotten it to work? My team tried using it at first, but we realized that automatic PID control could never be as good as...

Try just using the Encoder class. That should have everything you need. Just make sure you use setDistancePerPulse() with the right units and you can get the speed (this class gives speeds in units...

Re: Not showing Battery Voltage
Yeah if that jumper is in the right place and the analog module is powered, you should be able to see the battery voltage in the driver station and the dashboard if you have that programmed in.

If it only works when the motor is going slow, could it be that your wheel or whatever you're driving is going faster than the AS5030's max RPM? Also I think that encoder in particular isn't really...
