Surprisingly, from the math, just one servo could handle the regolith with a safety factor of two. Unfortunately, the carpeting required us to move to three.

Since all six wheels are powered though, the chain runs would be a lot simpler if you put the pivot on the same center line of your center wheel. This would keep your chain length...
