Re: Hopper Capacity

Wow. If I see a functional robot that can hold all the balls and score points, I will be amazed. I know our robot can pick up two balls at a time from the ground, and I think she is supposed to be...

Cool Re: Aim High Game Animation in iPod Format

This is awesome! I carry my ipod with me everywhere, and I would love to show others the Aim High animation. Now if only I were on my laptop at the moment....

Cool Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

This is definitely a problem for a lot of kids who are in robotics. With me and a lot of the others on the team, I just bring my homework with me to the shop and that just means I have an entire...

Cool Re: Integrating Robotics into school curriculum

I don't understand why it would be so important to integrate robotics into the school curriculum first. A lot of teams are started, and then try to get more classes in the curriculum that relate to...

Cool Re: Most FIRST teams per capita

Kansas is number 14, not bad. Well, we boring Kansans have to find something to do with our time, lol. Why not dedicate it to FIRST? Hmm....I'm thinking I need to make some friends in...

Cool Re: Who ever thought they'd let us do it?

I'm betting someone will get hit in the head at one point. But I don't think that the robot should be disabled for the rest of the match, if it was an accident. Because really, with projectiles,...

Cool Re: Speed vs. Power

I would definitely want to choose both, but if I was forced to choose it would probably be speed. I don't know, having both would probably be a lot easier, and my child development class has voted...

Cool Re: Does anyone else think this game will not be as good as I imagine it might be?

[QUOTE=Not2B]
This could have wider viewer appeal than past games.
QUOTE]
That is definitely a plus. And now, to infect even more outsiders with the beautiful program that is FIRST Robotics...

Cool Re: Does anyone else think this game will suck?

I agree with you. This game does seem a lot easier to understand than Triple Play, but I don't know, that could have just been because I was a rookie last year and a little overwhelmed by everything....

Re: Does anyone else think this game will be awesome?

I didn't even think about penalties yet for this year's game. There were a lot of ways to lose points last year from penalties, and you didn't know the score until after the refs added it all up. You...

Re: Does anyone else think this game will be awesome?

Yeah, it would be pretty awesome if FIRST could do a Golden Snitch type thing to go after, but then we would have to make flying robots....oh the possibilities. :D

Red face Re: Does anyone else think this game will be awesome?

:o Wow I'm sorry, I completely did not know the dimensions of the field yet this year, it did just look more open to me. Thanks for saying what I meant, lol. :)

Cool Re: Does anyone else think this game will be awesome?

Wow. I am so excited for this year's game. It is so interesting, and yes, a lot less complicated than Triple Play. I had thought FIRST was going to go back to squares, but circles work too. I am...

Re: Is there too much focus on starting new teams, and not enough on maintianing the old?

That is very sad that there isn't much support from your school or community. :ahh: I suggest doing a lot of fundraising that involves people from your community, like having a booth at a fair,...

Re: Human Player: Past, Present and Future

I think the human player is a very important part of the game because it shows how humans and robots can work together. I do not think that the human player should have almost no importance in...

Re: Society on the Future

I think, so that I don't ramble on and on about this, that a good way to get students motivated to try to be a leader is to make them the head of a committee. Not all students can be a project...

Re: Is there too much focus on starting new teams, and not enough on maintianing the old?

I think it's great to start new teams too, and I never thought about teams quitting because of disappointments or boredom. Our team isn't incredibly old, but I could never see us quitting. Yes, we...

Re: What do you call a sale at your house of items that you have?

We've always used garage sale, sometimes yard sale. I've never heard of a tag sale before. We use garage sale because we set up our stuff in our garage to sell. Sometimes people will have so much...
