You know you've overdosed no FIRST when...

...when you get back from your last competition of the season at one am then lie awake in bed all night thinking over and over again, "What am I supposed...

Re: What's The Coolest Thing A Team Can Give Out?

Okay so, this year, my team had three main ideas:

1) laser pointers. Probably not allowed, but c'mon...
2) swag bags. I heard at least twenty people at both regionals saying, "Hey, can you guys go...

Re: FREE HUG ALLIANCE - JOIN THE REVOLUTION

Suggestions:

-Allow people to post new topics and threads.
-As of right now, whenever posts are made, they don't show up. That should be fixed.

Yay for free hugs!

Re: pic: KING-TeC 2008

Peter, it's really easy to get footage.

You simply call Zeke, and when he picks up, you say,
"ZEKE, GIMME ROBOT FOOTAGE!"
*rawr*
"please!"

and ta-da! Instant footage-having-ness.

Re: pic: KING-TeC 2008

Nice one Peter! That'd be really cool for the "recruiting" video, if we could make one of these each year.

Re: surefire ways to break you robot

Hmmm...

To test if your power cord in in correctly, tug on it, not being able to get it out, then assure your team that the cord won't come out. Then, do not push it back in or zip-tie it, so...

Re: 2008 Wisconsin Regional

Also, in the practice matches, it was team 2169 and another arm bot that scored 130 points.

Re: 2008 Wisconsin Regional

Last year we got "Attention in the pits. Team 2169 is in need of a flux capacitor." announced.

It was amazing.

Re: 2008 Wisconsin Regional

I think it all lies in strategy. Arm bots can be just as efficient as shooter bots if they know how to play. 171 rocked it, as did 93 and 2062 and several other arm bots.

Although, 1625 and 1730...

Re: Is this fair?

He's right. My team's power cord disconnected during the hybrid period of the final match so we got second instead of winning, but stuff happens. You just accept it graciously, and keep cheering...

Re: Most Exciting Final?

Yeah, it kind of sucked. Our power cord came disconnected so we couldn't even move. It's frustrating that something that simple screwed up the entire match, but hey, we still got to the finals! And...

Re: 2008 Wisconsin Regional

And congrats to you guys. 171, that was really an amazing belt grabber and honestly, you definately deserved to win. All three of your alliance partners did a fantastic job! We look forward to...

Re: Has ramps been a key thing for sucess?

It really does depend on the alliance, but in the championship match in 2007, we won by one point becuase in the last ten seconds we deployed our ramps and got both other teams' robots above that...

Re: Two teams, one school - Good idea?

Take a look at team 1988, The Sweetie Pies. They broke off from their school's team, and it's a team of three girls. They came to the Wisc. regional with their school, stayed in a hotel with their...

Re: 2008 Wisconsin Regional

Our power cord wasn't zip-tied. During the hybrid period, when we hit that wall, the power cord was knocked loose so we completely lost power and couldn't move at all.

Our team does want team 93...
