Re: 2014 Curie Division

I don't know about everyone else, but many on our team have had poor cell service in the pit area. This may cause issues with the text system.

Re: Tell me about your bumpers!

How do teams using a WCD style drive mount the bumpers within the 2-10 inch range? I played around with a WCD and that was a concern for me. You would almost have to make "risers" off your frame...

Re: 2014 FRC Game Breakdown

Re: Shooter designs from the 2008 Overdrive season

We started doing some "resizing" of 1114's 2008 bot and found that the the new aspects that you pointed out make their design quite difficult to apply to this game. It will be interesting to see if...

Re: Snow days

We have lost 5 days of school now due to snow. We had to go directly from the kickoff site in Indy to our homes (could not stick around to brainstorm or read rules) and could not meet again until...

Re: Team Facebook Pages

Jay County Robotics uses Facebook as our main source of communication with parents, sponsors and local media outlets. It has proven to be a lot more effective then a typical website.

Here is our...

Re: 2013 Queen City FRC Regional

3301 is very excited to return to the Queen City Regional. We are glad to be bringing an offense oriented robot this time around. We are all very impressed at how awesome the communication has...

Re: Bumper easy attachment?

All they are saying is it shouldn't take you a ton of time to get the bumpers off, cover or no cover.

Re: 60 Minutes - Are Robots Hurting Job Growth?

I have had to deal with many parents asking me this in the school system I work in. What people do not realize sometimes is that this increases the need to have a skilled workforce. A job where...

Re: Defensive assault strategy?

I remember seeing this, I believe in Chicago....

There isn't really a strategy similar to that for this game. I will agree that's one of the few times that using a scoring object for defense was a...

Re: Andymark Pneumatic wheel problems

These typically come unassembled. So you will need to do all of the assembly of the components including airing the tubes up.

Re: Defensive assault strategy?

I agree with what others have been saying. I would employ a much more effective defensive strategy then wasting discs that you can shoot, and focus on either hanging and making it more difficult to...

Re: Andymark Pneumatic wheel problems

Just to bring up a couple of other possible issues...

Are the bearings installed properly (with flanges and such extremely level and tightly in place)?

Are you using a cantilevered or secured...

Re: 2012 Queen City FRC Regional

Going along these lines, I would also ask that there be a way to turn the pit volume down. At times it was horribly annoying to here some of the pit announcements at extreme levels. But like I said...

Re: 2012 Queen City FRC Regional

Overall, this was a decent event. Obviously, it was a rookie regional so everything wasn't perfect. It was a very strong rookie regional though.

The venue was superb. It's nice to see newer...

Re: Team 1114: SimPhone App & The Kitbot on Steroids

This is really nifty. This is a great tool for any newbie to FIRST. I know we plan on using this so that the freshman/new members can build the kit bot from the instructions on the app and get...
