You really do not need to use all that weight for metal rollers (unless they are powered. If they are not powered, a lightweight slick lexan surface will suffice.

Great Idea! Our team had it too, but it is not legal.

There WILL be a point where one of the required wheels makes contact with the floor at an angle that is not in the correct, required orientation.

You do not need to use an expensive CV joint.

You can just use two simple Universal Joints in Series (each bent at the same angle) to create a CV joint.
