Re: Looking for a new team

Listen to the people in the link provided about college and FIRST. If I had gone to a college that was closer to events i would have volunteered over mentoring for sure. Takes a lot to balance both.

Re: Karthik to Host His Own Show on 11/14 8:30pm EST

I don't remeber the other team we were looking at. But we were debating going for triple balance or more scoring. So the other robot wasn't a wide bot so we wouldn't have been able to triple with...

If anyone has picked...

Re: Seven Rivers Regional/Lacrosse, WI

Waitlist is not a first come first served deal. Teams are invited off waitlist at the RDs discretion.

Re: paper: Stop the Stop Build

Fantastic write up/proposal Jim.

Lots of people, my self included, have touted this type of info with out having the data and charts behind us to really show the truth for several years now....

Re: Districts in Texas proposal sent to FIRST

Because you get out of bag time at your own facility with access to so much more than you have at a practice day. Add in there is less stress as you don't have a LRI breathing down your neck to get...

Re: Districts in Texas proposal sent to FIRST

There is no requirement that a team actually compete at both district events that their entrance fee allows them to. Those teams who choose not to are still getting a better deal robot time per...

Re: What can FIRST do to increase FRC team sustainability?

Except for the fact it is both easier and cheaper to completely rebuild a FTC robot compared to an FRC robot.

Arguments about teams having a lack of self control and knowing when to take breaks or...

Re: What does FRC sustainability mean to you?

The 6 weeks came about also because of the out dated need to actually have FedEx come pick up your robot so they could get it to your competition in time.

We no longer ship our robot why are we...

Re: What does FRC sustainability mean to you?

B&T is the epitome of doing something just because we always have. FIRST is about innovation and inspiration. Removing B&T has a huge ability to do both.

Re: Sheet Metal vs Tube Drivetrain

Do you plan on bending the sheet metal or just using flat plate? Use the resources you have to build the best robot you can. Resources are not just access to a water jet it's also having people with...

Re: What can FIRST do to increase FRC team sustainability?

Throw 2826 into the pool of teams that would only build 1 robot if bag day were removed. Our practice bOt is always better thay our comp bot because we get so much more test and run time on it. If we...

Re: Wisconsin District Rankings

An email was sent out to all teams main contacts with information on the meeting. To RSVP for the meeting I would email Jeff Fenstermaker, you can find his email on the Wisconsin regional website.

Re: Could alliance picks go this way

More clarification, once a team is an alliance captain and has declined or had another team accept, they cannot be picked by another team.

Re: A(nother) Sad Day For FIRST

Teams fold every year without formal announcements. If 233 is folding they don't owe anything to anybody in the FRC community to announce it. If they are and they do that's a nice thing to do but not...

Re: Wisconsin District Rankings

Right now HQ is preventing teams from opting in/out of other districts, I'm sure there is some push back from the districts themselves but i don't think it is as big as HQ.

It actually has been a mandate that when a state goes to districts the entire state goes, no opting out.

Also the discussion about single state vs multi state is a sense of identity and ease of...

Re: Wisconsin District Rankings

That's not how districts work, as of now at least. Entire states have to go to districts when said state goes.

Also in all my talks in St Louis not a single person thought it was a good idea to go...
