Re: Missing FIRST emails

Ever since TIMS went away and we got the new Dashboard, it seems that I'm now getting FLL email blasts. Hmm.....

Re: Connection issues at regionals

Static IP addresses WILL work on the field - you just have to make sure the network is 10.TE.AM.(number less than 20) and the subnet mask is correct to talk to the FMS server.

Subnet masks on the...

Re: Connection issues at regionals

Absolutely agree with this. We didn't have issues on the field like radios in the wrong mode, the dreaded "Christmas tree" (where someone was drawing too much bandwidth, effectively crippling the...

Re: Connection issues at regionals

We thought the same thing on the field. Many robots had it plugged into the same port and worked, but this one absolutely refused. Seems weird that only a handful act up.

I actually misread the...

Re: Connection issues at regionals

As FTAA in Buckeye, we had this problem with another team, also using Java. It absolutely baffled everyone on the field, as we had them apply the firmware update again, re-image the rio, swap...

Re: Classmate E14 Dashboard Docking

Try setting the Windows taskbar to auto-hide. It seems that the Dashboard needs that little bit of real estate for it to dock properly. I usually set the taskbar to be on the left side and to auto...

Re: USB to Ethernet Adapter For Competition

Many teams use the USB adapters on their driver station laptops. Just be sure that the drivers are installed and all other adapters are disabled through the network and sharing center.

Re: Sending video from coprocessor to Dashboard

Awesome! We will give it a try! We are only using the single camera, so we shouldn't have a problem using the same port. I will remove the vision code from the robot program and just use the...

Sending video from coprocessor to Dashboard

Currently, we have the Microsoft LifeCam plugged into a Kangaroo that is running the LabVIEW vision example. Is there any way to then send the video back to the dashboard so the drivers can see the...

Re: pic: Design teaser...

It is an angle adjustable flywheel. The two shooter motors also double as the intake. The turret can then lift the ball up and turn to whatever direction we need.

Re: pic: Design teaser...

There's not actually a lip that high for the ball. That was simply a work plane put through the middle of the ball to help make placing it in the bot easier. There are a couple of 1/8 inch angle...

Re: Connecting Raspberry Pi to network?

I highly encourage you to check out R63 to determine whether or not it would even be legal.

Even if it were legal, remember that the radio is programmed to be in bridge mode at competitions. ...

Re: Need help, talon srx labview coding

Termination resistors are present in a few control system components required on the robot. One such device is the RoboRIO, and the other is in the Power Distribution Panel. When wiring the CAN...

Re: Need help, talon srx labview coding

Sounds like something on the CAN bus isn't communicating correctly. Could you explain how you have your Talons wired on the CAN bus just as a sanity check? There could be a bad crimp somewhere...

Re: Need help, talon srx labview coding

This is correct if you are using PWM, but for CAN Talons, the constants will be just a number.

Have you gone through and given each Talon a unique ID through the RoboRIO webpage? They may all...

Re: PWM to CAN LabView arcade drive

You will have to delete the two boxes that have PWM 1 and PWM 2 in them. After they are deleted, right click on the motor nodes on the begin and create a new constant. From there, you can enter the...

Re: Lightweight Shooter PID Tuning

So this is going to sound really dumb, but I think I have it figured out now. Instead of selecting true on the "Reverse Sensor Output", I had selected true on "Reverse Closed-Loop Output" instead. ...

Lightweight Shooter PID Tuning

We are currently having a few problems getting our flywheels to keep at a constant RPM. We have tried both a Bang-Bang controller, the Talon SRX's built in speed PID, and even the standard LabVIEW...

Re: Cabling between Talon SRX and VersaPlanetary Integrated Encoder

I too was going to ask the very same question. Do we need to cut and splice shielded ethernet cables for running the encoder wires? How will signal degrade over this long run?

Re: Chairman's Award Uploading

You will have to upload the awards through STIMS, but your team's main (or alternate) contact in TIMS has to assign you the awards submitters. If they log into TIMS, under the Team Summary, they...

Re: AndyMark 9015 Motor (am-0912)

I believe you need this adapter plate (http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-2062.htm) to interface a 9015 to the gearbox. (It says it is for the PG71, but if I remember correctly, it is the same...

Re: Driver Station Update fails to install

Are you running the .exe from inside the zip file? Try extracting all the files first, as the installer needs files still captured by the compressed folder.
