Re: Roughtop or Wedgetop?

As far as the black tread goes, you would want the Extra-Grip SBR, not the "Oil-Resistant Neoprene."

Re: Roughtop or Wedgetop?

A lot of people will recommend the use of blue nitrile roughtop tread since it is supposedly the longest lasting and has great traction on carpet. It is more durable than the orange natural rubber...

Re: Drivetrain Critiques

How is the belly pan secured to the frame? It appears to be sitting in between the drive chain loop. Most drivetrains run the belly pan riveted or screwed to the very bottom of the drivetrain, to the...

Re: What do YOU want in the Kit of Parts?

We recently purchased all the necessary materials to do so at Hansen Hobbies! Still learning (poor terminals)!

Re: What do YOU want in the Kit of Parts?

The option to choose Victors or Jaguars. Also better quality PWM cables, possibly with different lengths (12", 24", 36")

Re: Be on the lookout for Robokong's team trailer

This brings up a good point. The thieves, if smart, would probably cover or remove the decals in order to make it look like any other trailer.

Re: Be on the lookout for Robokong's team trailer

Shared your memo on Facebook. We're 400 miles away, but hey, you never know.

If it does get found, get one of these (http://www.etrailer.com/Locks/Rackem/RA-25.html) ASAP!

Re: Letting teams know you want to pick them

IMO, it would be in your team's best interest to do so. That way you can precoordinate the alliance and share scouting data for a potentially stronger alliance (your team's 2nd pick). This, however,...

Re: West Coast Drive: Bellypan

Does anybody know if a sheet of garolite is heavier or lighter compared to polycarbonate of the same thickness?

Re: DRIVER STATION DESIGNS

Are there handles on that thing? Love the design and the fact that it has its own "belly pan".

Re: The White House AID

Interesting idea, a few questions:

Would the alliances be fixed? Or would there be qualification matches and alliance selections?

What if teams are unable to attend? What if it's raining?

Re: FIRST's statement on Einstein

We had a similar issue at Davis in which our comms were dropping after a few seconds into the match. It turned out that absolutely nothing was wrong with our radio -- the resolution of our camera...

Re: 971 Spartan Robotics Championship Preview

It's a shame we always ended up against each other. Playing with 971 in a legit match (other than the one match at Sacramento where our driver station crashed) would have been awesome.

WCD-Style Belly Pan Weight

After cadding up a 1/8" 6061 "WCD-style" belly pan, Inventor calculated its weight to be around 5.2 lbs. Would anybody consider this to be an accurate measurement? Assuming it has a diamond/cross...

Re: Do you have to use 2x1x1/8" tubing for a WCD?

There are always UHMW clamp tensioners, but screw/CAM tensioning is so much cleaner and more effective, albeit being slightly (but not significantly) more complicated.

Re: Attaching D-Link

We bend 1/8" polycarb into the shape of a case and rest the D-link in there. There is an opening on one side which we secure by "industrial" velcro.

Re: Do you have to use 2x1x1/8" tubing for a WCD?

1/8" wall for drivetrain, 1/16" wall for superstructure and bumper rails.
