Re: I2C implementation on the cRIO
Well that could certainly cause some issues.
I haven't checked yet what the response time is of my program.
I thought that it was implemented in the FPGA, so it could use a transparent latch on a...

Re: I2C implementation on the cRIO
Well, folks, I'm getting funny results.
I'm still not sure if the cRIO writes 8 bytes and reads 8 bytes every time. I suspect that it only writes and reads as much as it needs to.
The I2C driver I...

I2C implementation on the cRIO
Hi all,
If you're not familiar with the I2C standard, wikipedia has a good explanation here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%C2%B2C
If you feel comfortable with the protocol, please read on.
I'm...

Re: Windows jitter
Hey folks,
Glad to see you're still creating tools to quantify the quality of communication between the Driver Station and robot.
On that note, I wanted to thank Greg for the new "Charts" tab in the...

Re: Defective Black Jaguars?
It appears that re-flashing a working Jaguar will fail, causing that Jaguar to not work. Maybe something to do with the bootloader.

Re: A different workflow
I suppose I could do it that way. It seems like I'd just be making it harder on myself, though - I wouldn't be sure what the actual parts were, and I'd be dealing with more constraints than...

Re: A different workflow
Ian,
I looked at some videos for skeletal modeling and sketch blocks. I learned how to link parameters between parts, but that's not really what I was asking.
Is there a way to take a single part...

A different workflow
I've been using Inventor so far. It has a lot of nice features, but I've really gotten tired of the workflow, and I'd like to try a CAD program that uses a workflow I like. However, I don't know...

Re: How do YOU develop software?
Could you go into a little more detail here?
What's the process you use to make the code once you know the specifications? (Making the specifications appeared to be your first step, and your last...

How do YOU develop software?
I thought it would be fascinating to look at the different processes people use to develop software, to see how it varies.
IMPORTANT: I'm not talking about what you would recommend as a developing...

Re: CAN tutorial
Yes, the 120 ohm resistors work fine.
Truth be told, the CAN bus will actually operate with NO terminating resistor, but it will be less reliable.

Re: Encoders and Mecanum Drive
I would like the new image as well.
All my encoders are connected to Jaguars, but I do use the semi-period counter functions for SONAR.

Sloppy Denso coupler
I'm using a denso window motor, direct-drive onto a 2 foot arm. It appears to have enough power (and more than enough speed) for the application. However, the coupler has 7 to 10 degrees of slop in...

Re: CAN/Jag Blowouts
Perhaps you are referring to a fault condition.
Brandon, when your Jaguar "blows out", do you smell anything? Did it smell like burnt plastic and electronics, or did the Jaguar just stop working...

Re: Labview / Simulation
I understand now.
You're using this not for prototyping, but for checking your programming logic. Nice!
This means you have a way of using the same simulation code from year to year without tedious...

Re: servo jitter when running Jaguar on RS-775
I've taken of the RS775. It did indeed have a short to its case. (About 1 ohm)
There was nothing else connected to the frame, but considering the long servo runs, I don't doubt that the servos were...

Re: Labview / Simulation
Interesting.
What sort of bugs does this catch for you? Does it simply tell you you need to turn further here, or stop sooner here?
Or is it meant to catch bugs in your navigation subVIs?
Or is it...

Perhaps I was...

Would this help?
