Re: PCM
Pretty sure it was this year's compressor, two of the old small capacity aluminum reservoirs and a single solenoid and a 10 inch stroke cylinder. Now that you mention multiple solenoids, team 2013...

PCM
I'm wondering if any others are having trouble with the PCM (Pneumatic Control Module). Ours completely failed during practice day. I checked fuses and re-did the CAN network wires. Finally got a...

Re: RoboRIO / FMS / mDNS / lessons learned
I'll add my vote to this. We experienced similar problems at Toronto East this weekend. It seemed the Classmate would always connect but our HP laptop would only connect maybe once in 4 times after...

SMED Principles
With this years one minute on field assembly rule, teams might consider quick connect fasteners used in SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies), for example, spring loaded locks, quarter turn...

Re: Robot Size
I believe the rule is only assembled once on the field. I'm sure the intent is to not have cumbersome and potentially unsafe configurations being pushed/lifted through the field access gates.

Re: Which controler for driving mecnum?
I meant to say arcade until the stick gets to 45 degrees. I'm pretty sure our programmer just used a linear proportion to give the driver strafe "steering". As you know, sideways steering is pretty...

Re: Humans Stacking Crates
Can you push down on the chute door to reduce the speed of tote as it slides down and thus keep the first tote from flipping?

Re: The Noodle Agreement
You don't even need to alternate. Each HP can preload a noodle in the chute then hold up their free arm. They drop arms and push in the litter simultaneously.

Re: Which controller for driving mecanum?
1246 used to do custom programming on a single joystick. Normal 4 wheel drive for front and back quadrants (up to 45 degrees on the joystick). Full left and full right would be 100% strafe steering....

Re: 2015 Recycle Rush Scoring
I originally thought the coopertition points were a red herring since they won't really affect ranking since averages are calculated to 2 decimal places but the high value of the stacked totes...

Re: Need some info on a fried cRIO
We had to remove metal shaving from our cRIO last year. It also burned out the surface-mount fuse where I soldered a wire temporarily to get going before getting a replacement shipped from Newark...

Thanks for that last word. Yes, definitely check the 24 VDC supply first then even after opening the case check for continuity on F2. Ours was open and the aluminum pigtail shaving obviously...

Re: cRIO not turning on!!!
Thanks for this post. It saved our butts. So close to ship date our CRIO was dead and probably hard to find a loaner at this stage. We found an aluminum shaving that had fallen in the serial port....

Re: [BB]: Regional Variations & Bagging It
I wonder if they really thought about having both Canadian Regionals as Bag and Tag. I think US teams would still need to ship their robot to those events. I don't think border officials would let...
