Re: Website Team
Why do you need to "make" it fun?
In my view, a mentor's job is (when possible) not to make a program or a plan for the students, but instead to facilitate the students, let them drive themselves,...

Re: Suckerfish issues
Hmm, this is a tricky one...
At this point, what I would do is start with the menu HTML on its own with no CSS, and start adding in the CSS one property at a time (leaving out the irrelevant ones...

Re: Website Loadtime
Although judges probably aren't paying attention to details like that, it's a good idea to check the website speed since it makes a difference for your audience (and sometimes there are simple ways...

Re: Style code trouble!
Could you clarify which block of code is working and which isn't?
Try comparing the selectors in each blog. For example, the first one has styles for
body.c8
which means they will apply to the...

I think ebarker might be thinking of a copyright?
You can copyright the logo easily, but a trademark is another matter. It can cost a few hundred dollars, and the process begins with an extensive...

Re: Looking for website advice
Alt text only needs to convey what would otherwise be missing from the document. You would want to use alt text if there's a gap between what the image conveys and what the caption says.
However, if...

Re: Website Content
My suggestion is to start by deciding on some goals for your site, and make content decisions based on those goals. I think it's best if the content serves your team's own goals and priorities,...

Re: HTML/Website Help
I'd start by proofreading the HTML. The head and body elements are a little scrambled up, and there are two opening body tags. Put the style and link tags into the head section.
Also check the rest...

Yeah, frames aren't a great idea for layout, but they're worth learning since they're still used in many web apps (often invisibly). The key with what you were trying to do is to be precise with your...

Those nav links open in the same frame, so the "Home" link is opening index.htm within that frame. But index.htm contains multiple frames, so you're opening a page with frames inside a frame.
I'd...

I don't think prefetch (in the way Firefox implements it) can open the door for malware.
From a security standpoint, the worst it can do is allow cookies to be sent by the prefetched domain. It...
