Re: FRC Mechanical Design Calculator (By Dillon Carey and Aren Hill)

Adding the AM gear options would be useful. I would definitely still want to separate AM and VEX, to help reduce shipping costs.

As you can see, there is a distinct lack of any support in the...

This link below will allow you to make a copy of the spreadsheet that both Aren Hill and myself have developed and used over the last couple years.

It isn't quite as polished as I would like, but...

Re: pic: Swerve again, for fun

Not everything that 1625 has ever done was designed by Aren, many things were, but his senior year on our team was 2008. He helped out up till about 2011, he moved on to help 3928 and 148 after. He...

Bumper Zone Limitations

Bumpers have been around for quite a while now, and the Bumper Zone has pretty much always stayed the same. The main rule I would like to address is the height limitations on the bumper zone. It has...

Re: Pit work during ceremonies

I am going to restate that this is a very reasonable way to deal with the situation. The way the rules are currently stated outline this, however they could be clarified.

To address all the people...

Re: pic: 4WD Concept

As the main mentor who helped with the design of last years drive train, here's what I have to say.

I really like how easy this thing is to build and it isn't super hard to drive in my opinion...

Re: gearbox calculator

Very interesting.

I figured mechanicly shifting would take advantage of the power better, but The other curve still looks like it is pretty decent. with some more tweaking it may be possible to make...

Re: gearbox calculator

This is something that I have been contemplating for a while.

I haven't figured out how to get this to work in both directions, but if you had a 3 cim gearbox and one of the cims was geared...

Re: gearbox calculator

As I was reading through this thread I have been wondering. On a single speed 4 or 6 cim drive, would the acceleration benifit from having 1 of the cims in each gearbox geared differently? In the...

The application does come with inventor, if you would like to create a server you have to talk to autodesk directly. This is the contact I used (phil.dollan@autodesk.com) which I fount in another...

Re: Autodesk Vault

If I understand correctly, Vault can be used to "check out" parts. This allows for multiple people to work on a robot without having multiple people working on the same part. Vault may come with...

I have been looking into a CAD file system such as Autodesk Vault.

I found this (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79120) thread, however it is fairly old and I was wondering if...

Re: Anyone tried a slip ring?

If your worried about size and weight, then you should probably look into a co-axial module anyway.

Re: 6 wheel swerves

The six wheel swerve actually had basically no extra pushing power past that which a four wheel swerve would have supplied. This is because it was a dropped center 6 wheel. Therefore it effectively...

If it is a pellet gun meant for rodent...

Re: Beatty Robots

Just for the record, it doesn't shoot paintballs. It's an airsoft gun, which shoots brass or plastic pellets, as described in the video.
