Re: Most Unlikely Places You've Found FRC People

At a shabbat dinner. Heard a guy talking about looking to find a place in NYC to weld furniture for his apartment. I suggested an FRC team, turns out he used to be on a team in high school, and he...

Re: pic: When things break at the worst possible time - Einstein

I can only imagine what might have happened if this gearbox never broke. We were neck and neck with the eventual championship alliance in the first match before you guys broke and then we won match 2...

Re: NY Districts - POA

My feeling has always been simple, I want districts for my team as soon as possible. The reason FIRST exists is for students to learn, if you play 8 matches a year, you aren't going to learn much and...

Using the Drawbridge/Sallyport or not?

In our design on 694 this year, we decided not to go for the lowbar and instead decided on a bot that could traverse the other defenses well. In the end we ended up with a bot the could do the...

Re: New York City Regional

We should have almost every match recorded from the stands. A few were probably missed here or there. Going to upload them soon hopefully. Also 1796 ran the stream, hopefully they have some of it...

Re: Limit speed of 4 chassis CIM motors

Also, what might help is limiting deceleration. I would make sure my motor controllers are set to coast and not brake, this way you don't decelerate as rapidly so that you have less tipping issues...

How to Scout Recycle Rush?

We are working on our scouting sheets right now on 694 and we haven't had any fantastic ideas on scouting in this game, particularly when it comes to scouting totes scored, level of stacks, and where...

Re: The Noodle Agreement

My initial thoughts on how to make this work. You agree to the noodle agreement with the terms that you throw one noodle at a time. Alliance a throws one noodle and then alliance b throws another and...

I love seeing threads like this, basically costs me an hour of my life, because I have to watch old reveal videos, but it is so worth it.

The most important thing is getting the mentors something, anything at all. A candy bar that says thank you from the students means a ton.
My recommendation is to make it personal. I wear different...

I love both of these so much, it has gotten me thinking about what clever things we could do in the future. You get a few seconds to say yes, while you have the entire arena's attention. Why not go...

Re: FRC Blog - My Bad Call

This was the right thing to do, I'm glad FIRST and Frank stepped up here. That match shouldn't have been the last for 1323's seniors and now it won't be.

NYC was so much fun this year. So many good teams attended and raised the level of play, teams had to bring their A game and did.

It was a crazy weekend and I'm so proud of how our team did, #2 seed...
