Re: Northern Lights 2017

It was really competitive last year, and now you add 27, 525, 3130 and 2175?! This is going to be ridiculous.

I look forward to watching, and I feel a little better about going back to Iowa this...

Re: Build Season Schedule Questions?

I haven't looked into this myself, but I know that Caleb has the same opinion I do, so I expect the team leadership has explored some options.

I don't know if they've looked into this though....

Re: Build Season Schedule Questions?

Full team meetings are from 2-8 on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (with Friday being optional) and 9-2 on Saturday. We have separate driver practice sometimes on Monday and Wednesday.

The school...

Re: (Seemingly) Irrational alliance selection decisions?

One factor which has not yet been discussed but played a major role in our decision making at the 10000 Lakes regional this year is the role of seeding and the bracket.

We were pretty sure going...

Re: IRI 2016 Predictions

And one that could climb as consistently as Talon did in the Galileo playoffs. They were a very effective second pick for that alliance.

Re: Follow up: Class of 2016, Where are you going?

Our programming captain Liam is going to Madison. He isn't very active here on CD, but you've probably talked to him at competition (most likely he was talking about you selecting us).

Re: Best low goal robot

1775 deserves a mention here as well. I remember going into Iowa confident that we would be the best low goal robot, but was then shocked to discover that they could weaken the tower by themselves,...

Unhappy Re: Top 5 new members to FIRST's Top Tier in your state/region

Based on my knowledge of which middle schools now feed into which high schools in St. Paul, and from the current respective trajectories of Highland (2823) and Central's (4536) math teams (ah, the...

Re: 2016 Minnesota State Champs

I don't know whether the team leadership feels the same way, but I would love to return to Iowa next year. It's always fun to compete with that many great teams all in one place, especially from the...

Re: 2016 Minnesota State Champs

What if we counted extra events, but team's events after their first one didn't give teams as many points? So being a semifinalist at your second event would be the same number as points as being a...

Re: 2016 Minnesota State Champs

Congrats to 2823 and 2855 for making it, and I wish you good luck representing St. Paul.

Despite the unfortunate absences of 2175 and defending state champion 3130, who won North Star together last...

Re: Are 8 play regional reasonable?

Although I didn't build the climber, I would say that most of that excitement resulted from that climb coming in our first semifinal game, which we won by 10 points and would have lost based on the...
