Re: Best Up-And-Coming Teams

I think anyone who watched 5895 play can agree with this.

Re: If YOU were the GDC...

I know there's at least one team in MAR who feeds exclusively from the brattice, though I forget which team it is.

Re: Help with TrajectoryLib

We are using them to drive in autonomous - we initially did not have vision tracking and used them to drive up to the batter and shoot in autonomous. Well, in theory we did. We didn't have much time...

Re: What did you learn from this past build season?

We learned - or at least set a new team record for - how little time the programming team can have with the robot for it to be functional for competition. Apparently it's about 6 hours.

Re: Manually cancelling a Command

My mistake - I apologize for the error. What would an interrupt be then?

Re: Manually cancelling a Command

I have a background thread that checks for a certain button combination on the joystick being pressed. The Cancel() method will be called when that condition is true.

Re: Manually cancelling a Command

Will this cause issues if multiple commands are trying to end their parent CommandGroup?

Manually cancelling a Command

Hello,

I am trying to create a Command subclass which listens for an interrupt to cancel the command. When cancelling the command, I have tried using the Cancel() method, but it fails when the...

Re: Preferred Programming Language

Just a note: Java actually only supports passing by value, while C++ actually supports both passing by value and passing by reference.

Re: Issues with grip on raspberry pi.

Can anyone else confirm this? We're currently using Network Tables to communicate between our Pi and our RoboRIO and I'd rather not have it fail during a match. If this is the case, what other ways...

Re: 1678 Two Ball Auto

It seems possible (though extremely hard) to do it with any other defense, except maybe the ramparts. I doubt it will happen before Einstein, if at all, though.

Re: 1678 Two Ball Auto

That is a scary amount of GP you have there sir. And I've seen lots of GP in my days.[/QUOTE]
That's American GP.

Re: 2016 MAR(FMA?) Mt. Olive Discussion

I wish it were so. No, I'm just curious about how long it will take to start seeing teams with multi-ball autos.

Re: 2016 MAR(FMA?) Mt. Olive Discussion

It will be interesting to see how Mt. Olive compares to Palmetto. Hopefully we see some higher-scoring games. Maybe even a multi-ball autonomous.

Modeling path of spinning boulder

Has anyone been able to accurately model the trajectory of a spinning boulder? We have tried, but the math/physics involved is going completely over my head so we haven't made much progress.

Update rate of commands

How often is the "Execute" method run on commands in command-based? We are trying to do something which relies on sensor and motor controller values being updated at a constant rate. I am worried...

Re: Eclipse FRC 2016 C++ problems

We have not solved the problem, but have managed to work around it by sshing into the RIO and performing the deploy process manually.

Re: Team 5726 - Multiple errors in Eclipse path

I am also having all four of these errors. I was able to solve the bottom three by installing MinGW and adding C:\MinGW\bin to PATH. I have not been able to solve the first error yet, however.

Re: Thoughts on the teaser?

It's very unlikely that FIRST will reuse game pieces from last year, especially in a very similar way. It puts rookie and newer teams at a huge disadvantage against teams who already have excellent...
