Re: Does anyone have the mechanical specs for the Denso?

Also, our electronics team needs to know what kind of wire they need to use to attach the Denso--anyone know or can anyone refer me to the documentation?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Does anyone have the mechanical specs for the Denso?

Nobody knows about that last hole yet? Or does anyone have a good way to take that metal insert out of the hole so we can modify the hole size?

Does anyone have the mechanical specs for the Denso?

Or, failing that, does anyone happen to know what size screws you would use to mount it?

Re: Sorry--clarification on the rules about motors?

^Unless, of course, your budget is ridiculously tiny. We're trying to recycle as much as we can right now (right now, the frame of our robot is based on last year's frame and this year's frame put...

Sorry--clarification on the rules about motors?

So can we or can we not reuse CIM motors from past years? Can we reuse them if they're not involved in the drive train?

2007 Controller Power cable?

I'm not electronics--I'm mechanical--so I have no idea what I should be looking for. We're prototyping our robot with our robot from 2007, but we lost the power cable to the controller. What are...

Re: Rookie Team Members How Was It

This was pure crazy.
I've never had this combination of stress and fun.
Ever.

Re: Last Day, how did it go?

We pulled the robot together today in the last few hours...only to find out that the design doesn't work as well as it should. T.T

Re: You know it's nearing ship date...

Goodness, we haven't even finished putting the robot together, let alone weighed it.

Re: "Quotes" that were said during build season

So we're trying to figure out how to get more people to be able to cut and drill at a time, since our work table is too small for two people to work simultaneously.

"Look, we need to get another...

Re: Who else is really, really behind?

Haha, the wonderful taste of progress! It's like powder sugar on strawberries!

At the rate we got things done today, we SHOULD be done assembling by Thursday.

The operative word is SHOULD.

Re: guitar hero controler

You think any teams are doing wiimotes this year?

How about guncons? Or that old light rifle for duck hunt?

Re: Does your teams robot have an offical name?

Our bot last year was the Rambot, since it was our first year. Due to its appearance, however, every single team I've met that knew us said, "Oh, you guys are the ones with the big purple box,...

Re: 1086 build workspace

We have a wonderfully table-cluttered biology room, which makes it impossible to get anywhere without taking a detour around the room. We also had to spend the first two weeks making a work table so...

Re: 80" Cylinder Diameter Rule

Eugh, I hope this doesn't happen to us. We ran some calculations and it was close then, but after a bunch of design modifications we haven't run any more calculations since we're running out of time...

Re: guitar hero controler

Yeah, it works. You have to have a compatible 360 controller chiclet, but it works. We were actually planning to use it to control our manipulator, but our mentor vetoed it because he said it's too...

Re: POLL: First Music

I concur wholeheartedly, but I doubt anyone else shares our musical tastes.
I wouldn't mind Battle of Yavin by John Williams, or Tatakau Monotachi from FFVII or FFVII:AC.

Re: Robot progress

We have a moving base as of yesterday, which means we got electronics going, and our arm is being cut right now (we just got some of our custom pieces today). HOPEFULLY we'll be done by next week,...

Need Quick info on chassis parts...

What size screw is given with the kitbot? If you could get it to me in 3 minutes, that'd be fantastic.

Re: What drivetrain style are you using?

We were going to try rack-and-pinion car style steering, but we figured that since we were so behind schedule we'd go back to tank steering. At least we still have the maneuverability necessary to...

How did everyone else get indoor-outdoor carpet for their practice field? Our team can't find anyone who's donating, nor can we get any carpet for a decent price, so we'd like to find out how the...
