Re: What COTS parts would you like to see?

I played around with this concept around kickoff, but it got buried by other posts. (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141109)

Re: Question about Anderson PowerPoles

The 30A powerpoles will work just fine once crimped and housed. The contact area is the same and they'll behave identically to the 45A connectors. They might be a bit of a pain to connect to 12AWG...

VersaPlanetary Friction Clutch

VexPro/WCP's new 775pro is wildly cool. However, packing 143W into the 775 form factor seems to have come at a price, namely the allowable stall time. According to Vex's data...

Re: "W" Drive Versa Wheels

Seeing as the wheel pictured is from 11's 2014 robot (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1346179#post1346179), thought I'd chime in with a review.

We switched to the horizontal...

Re: pic: Octocanum Module

I'd be a touch hesitant to use the force generated by the piston to say that this module will actuate. The rotation of the module about its pivot axis makes the problem a rotational one, rather than...

Re: SD540 Motor Controller

There's also no "I'm ambivalent about these features" option. "I do not like it, Sam-I-Am" becomes the default option, since the others are super positive about the product.

From my chair, none of...

Re: pic: Octocanum Module

Going from one 4x2 to two 2.5x1.25 Colsons would save 0.4lbs per module on wheels. Probably a little over a half pound per module with resulting gearing changes.

It's actually a CIM and MiniCIM, and I'll edit the description to reflect that. I've added that information to the initial post, but can't seem to edit the phot description

Re: LED Strip Power

Would throwing a couple of 5v regulators in parallel work for your application? Something like 4 LM323's on a perf board (with appropriate filtering) should be enough for your application.

Edit: See...

Re: Tweaking PWM output period for dimming LEDs

I've previously used PWM.setRaw() to set the duty cycle of PWM channels for driving LEDs, where setRaw(0) is 0% duty cycle and setRaw(255) is 100%.

Re: Encoders for 2015 Season

You can get them with wires attached or with .1in pins. Getting the pins tends to be more feasible. You can either solder to them or attach standard .1 female connectors (same as pwm) and run cable...
