Re: Inter-District Play in 2017

Conversely, at another event w/ only district teams, 4 teams gain more points than you.

Not sure the system is flawed, but then again?? If you’re the best team from your district at a district...

Re: What hath we wrought? 2016 Horror Stories

Thank you for the explanation, without that it appeared like he just thought driving into an 8” tall wall might be cool. You had the match in the bag before that, turned in your favor over all...

Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've seen on a robot?

Exactly, and at the end of a match all power should be off. The safety light goes off to assure all robots are powered down. So this was interesting to me. Did they not power down at termination...

Re: What is the most ghetto thing you've seen on a robot?

Why to think outside the box, as it were. Hope your upgrade was more effective.
Is it my imagination or does one of the robots in the video still have power on at the end of the match? I see a...

Re: Discussion: Release Team Field Drawings Early

Please do. Happily Virginia FIRST and now, Chesapeake District has hosted a wonderful event at the VCU campus. Understand limited seating so whole teams are discouraged. A side note we have in...

Re: Discussion: Release Team Field Drawings Early

I'll second this idea. Would be a huge plus in many ways, including budgeting of both $ and time.

I would also speak to those holding kickoff events and the "not much of an advantage" thought. Not...

Re: Sponsor can we morally seek sponsorship from a brewery

A successful brewer will use science, technology and math to run efficiently and continue their success. I would see this as a means to inspire students on the team. Is that not what FIRST is all...

Re: Robot Cart

You correct I mistook what I read on width. Weight is still an issue. We had one like this so I recall those things. Weight here comes from cylinder, able to lift 500 lbs.

However this may be...

Re: Robot Cart

I like what you like about this cart. What I don't care for are the width (tight thru a door) and weight.

Also, I would remove the handle and make one that pivots or is removable.

Centrifugal force can be an enemy when turning a shaft/extrusion.
Be sure the non-work end is properly supported or the off-balance force may...

Re: FIRST 4 year game theme cycle theory
