Re: Stronghold Drivetrain Review

I'm almost scared to say it but.......swerve:ahh:

We did swerve, because our strategy was not to focus on crossing defences, although the drive train did work well against most in practice. Our...

Re: New Off-season Defenses

Why don't we do that? It will still allow robots designed solely for crossing defenses would still be able to cross, and it would make it easier for robots designed to shoot to do that. If anything,...

Re: Hardest Shooting Robots

We are using 2 vex 775s on a dual to one, with what I believe is a 15:1 versaplanetary. It will take about 4-7 seconds after firing to get it fully compressed

Re: Hardest Shooting Robots

What about non-wheeled shooters like punchers? My team, 1706, is using the kind of spring from a car suspension, taking about 245lbs of force to pull it back completely.

Re: 1706 Shooter Reveal

We do, using rollers, it will suck the ball into the front of the shooter where the ball is housed. This rollers will actually move to get out of the way of the shooter whenever we don't need them...

Re: Ratchet Rockers Swerve Chassis Timelapse Build

That was the off-season swerve. We still use it for programming and such. We are modifying that design for this year. As you can see in that video from November, it has a very low ground clearance.

Importance of Scouting

It may only be me, but I think this year is probably one of the most important for scouting. You need to know what defenses a team can/cannot cross, so you can select the defenses that will be most...

Re: What will separate the good from the great?

I have a feeling that when it comes to final championship matches, we will see a lot of 2 ball autos from the winning alliances. But it's only going to be a small amount of teams that will execute it...
