Re: AndyMark Mecanum Wheel tests

Mr. Baker,

I would suggest a shock load test, much like the robot going over the bumps this year. This is were we incurred most of the damage to our AM Mecanums this year.

Thank you for...

Re: Vision Target Backing

Sorry for the bump, but I noticed that the same backing that was on at GKC was also present at the Wisconson Regional. Is there a way to communicate will field set up crews to take this backing off?

Re: IR Beam Breaking Circuit

We are using a garage door safety infrared sensor (much like: http://www.amazon.com/Liftmaster-41A5034-Garage-Opener-Safety/dp/B0006OAFVE )

Easy to install, don't have to worry about the range at...

Re: Vision Target Backing

That may explain it! We had thought about that but I felt it at the regional and it had almost a glossy paint feel to it. Maybe it was just a thicker plastic covering that we were used to.

Re: Vision Target Backing

I wasn't sure if the white of the background was close enough to the white of the circle, thus removing an edge.

Re: Best 2010 Kicker

I really like Baxter Bombsquad (16). They have a great ball control mechanism and can consistently score from the mid zone, something around 80 percent. I think they hit every shot they took in the...

Re: 2009-'10 EDITION: Second-Year Teams to Watch Out For

3010 from Centerburg OH, nice and clean robot, would never guess they were a rookie if it wasn't for the team number

They almost swept Cleveland (Rookie All Star, Highest Seeded Rookie, Finalist)

Re: robocavs vid

They are probably doing this to change the height of the ball in proportion to the kicker instead of re-drilling the alxe holes each time the make a change.

Re: 987 Kicker Destruction

We had a similar situation here on 868. We punched a HVAC vent back up into the ceiling testing our prototype. A few ceiling tiles also gave their lives for the cause.

Re: Dog Gear?

In 2008, we used a Gen 2 servo shifter to a garage door spring (200 lbs. force or more to "crack it"). The AM shifters are GREAT at winch applications. Instead of winding up the surgical tubing...
