Re: 2006 FRC Registration Opening Letter

It could be, but I'd just assume that it's a logistics issue. Maybe those eight regionals each had to be in the second week because of prior bookngs, or maybe FIRST was trying to keep a given region...

Re: What is the most important engineering problem of our future?

The biggest problem we're going to have? People.

The world's population is somewhere around 6.5 million right now; in ten years, according to a quick and unscientific measurement...

Re: FIRST Robotics student shot

Actually, it happens next month, if Windows is telling the truth.

Not that it really matters, but I don't think that the "how Ironic" comment was appropriate here. There isn't anything funny about...

Re: Championship Event in Atlanta for 2007 = Confirmed (possibly 2008 & 2009 too)

It still beat Houston by a LONG way, especially when you take the uphill trip into account. Atlanta didn't really have one of those; Houston did, and it was killer.

Re: dying internet

Have you called your ISP yet?

I'd assume that the problem is on their end, because you said nothing about changing your setup or settings.

Re: Spoiler tags?

But those are also the easiest to trigger accidentally.

I'd stick with the "highlight to read" system, if I were making the decision.

Re: Will Rovers Outlast Lavery's Shirt???

I do believe that that's the first time I've seen Buddy Lee mentioned on CD.

And chances are good that it's going to be the last one too...

The success of the rovers so far has definitely made up...

Re: Boba fett vs. Masterchief

Boba Fett isn't an Xbox exclusive.

He wins solely because of that.

And no, PC ports that came out years later don't count...

Re: Programming software?

Is there a chance you'd be able to talk to your old programmers, to get the software and some advice from them?

If that's not an option, you could always work on learning C without MPLAB. You don't...

I could be wrong, but I could've sworn I said that in the post I made right before yours... ;)

Re: Hardest Regionals?

Who's to say that this year wasn't an exception? We'd have to take data from as many years as it exists for, and then compare the regionals year to year to see if the trend holds up.

But I've had...

Re: Descriptions and such in image threads?

I'm guessing Brandon could do that fairly easily. He's already got the code that automatically inserts the picture into a new thread; throwing in the description below it shouldn't be that...

Re: IRI registered teams

Apparently, we're going to IRI this year.

First I've heard of it, though.

Re: Gracious Professionalism > Ungracious Unprofessionalism

Why is it that I didn't hear stories like this when I joined FIRST three years ago?

It could just be me, but it seems like the emphasis on GP has decreased. Significantly, and not just on this...

Re: 2005 IRI Music List

This sounds like a very dangerous slope indeed. Who knows what kind of music men like Dave listen to in their free time?

For all we know, he's got an iPod filled of audio that the two rovers have...

Re: Does FIRST give out too many awards? (Opinion)

Time for a simple question.

If the medals aren't the correct form of reward, than what is? The pins are an alternative, to be sure, but what other choices are out there that would be realistic...

Re: FIRST Robotics for the Blind?

Didn't Wildstang use a coordinate-based system for their autonomous back in 2003?

I don't recall them having any kind of audio feedback, but I do remember a Windows interface where you could click...

Re: pic: Our Techno-Toilet

So...does this thing fuction better as a toilet or as a robot?

I think I know, but I really would like a bit more info. A video of the RoboCommode 5000 in action would be perfect... :)

Re: iRobot Scooba - floor-washing robot

What we really need is a combination Roomba/Scooba, one that can clean all of your floors in one go.

I haven't had the chance to look at one of these closely yet, but they're definitely the kind of...

Re: Teams losing lots of seniors

Team 818 first competed in the 2002 season.

This year, we're losing all of the seniors who joined as freshmen. If I counted right, we've got a total of eighteen seniors (including myself) who are...

Re: Shutting down for the summer...

Lack of school involvement doesn't mean that you can't be active in FIRST.

When 818 went to IRI last year, the school district wasn't involved at all. Two parents were in charge of the trip, and we...

Re: AP Tests Loom

Calc AB is out of the way now, and it wasn't too terrible. I left a few blank, including parts of free response questions, but I'm hoping I did well enough to get some credit from UMich.

English...

Re: Paul Shay Resigining as Executive Director of FIRST

It could just be how FIRST is still growing, adding more teams and the Vex program to an already huge list of LEGO League and FRC teams and competitions. Maybe it's the fact that FIRST is moving...

Re: Championships location from 07 and onwards

If you don't mind me asking...

How do you know about it if it's a classified project? And would anyone have known what the numbers meant if you hadn't made your post?

If Dave's getting in trouble...
