Re: Registration 2017
I finally got registered at 9:42 local time. Fortunately, our first event is not wildly popular, or I would have been mad.

Re: Registration 2017

Re: Registration 2017
This is why I have a cushy part time job... to be able to waste an hour griping about a failed registration system on social media.
But seriously, I assume you can pay a testing company to slam...

Re: Stress, burnout, and stepping back
I'm taking a year off FRC because I noticed that I haven't gotten any new products out the door in my home business since I started mentoring FRC four years ago.
I'm still mentoring our little Vex...

Re: 2015 Season Technical Photos
We just did a photo shoot of our robot and its parts last night for the Behind the Design book. It should be pretty good this year! We used laser-cut plywood. Unusual, yet amazingly effective.

How the Recycle Rush game changed my life
These days, whenever I see a grey plastic tote, I check out the long edge to see if our robot could pick it up.
What do you look for in grey plastic totes nowadays?

Re: Building Out a Workshop
For power tools, please consider that you have to live with the darn things for years, so don't skimp on quality. Don't buy Harbor Freight. It will drive you batty. Check that the drill press doesn't...

Re: Carver Division 2015
Advice? Enjoy yourselves. Don't expect to win anything else. The championships is the reward for the hard work you did up until now.

Re: A Recycle Rush Reflection
I remember starting a thread like this a couple weeks ago. I can't say my opinion of the game has changed much since winning a regional.
Some of our team members just drove to Phoenix yesterday...

Re: Getting Mentors out of Comfort zone
We made a big change this year to go with a wood robot. It was made possible because our build space has a laser cutter. What made the change happen was that a few people on the team decided it was...

I hope you asked him about his...
