Re: Team Update #1
The minibot aspect of this update is disappointing. As others have stated, it would have been a lot of fun to see the different ways minibots avoided using motors. It probably would have made the end...

Re: FRC 2011: Logomotion [Initial Impressions]
Where are you getting this from? Section 5.3.3 states that seeding will be based on Qualification Score, which has returned to its previous state of 2 points per win, 1 per tie, 0 per loss. So...

Re: Best Drivetrain
Here's one option that hasn't been said yet: 4 wheel drive, with omni wheels on opposite corners. This worked really well for my team last year, and was easy to maintain. Having the omnis on the...

Re: Thoughts on Overdrive
I didn't personally feel that it was as exciting as the last two years, but Overdrive was definitely a lot of fun to watch when played well.
No matter what the game is, there will always be an...

Re: Match scheduling algorithm and team numbers
Just to back up what's been discussed here, I just looked at the match schedule for my team (1816) this weekend. Out of 35 alliance partners/opponents, only two have numbers lower than 1212.

Re: Predictions Championship: Einstein
On Archimedes I could definitely see 27 and 71 teaming up and selecting 1646 (who 27 paired up with at GLR). That alliance would have a great chance at making Einstein.

Re: Predictions to win 2008 Frc Championship
One thing that tends to happen at the Championship due to the low number of qualification matches is that a team who is not the strongest can "fluke" to the top of the standings due to good luck...

Re: Predictions Week 5: The Great Divide
In Minnesota, look for 525 and 93 to team up in eliminations. Those two robots have easily the most effective hybrid modes in that competition. If they do team up, they will be very, very difficult...

Re: Predictions Week 3: Fighting for Position
I would not be surprised if 1625 absolutely runs away with WI. That said, don't forget about 1816 at Wisconsin. My former team won the initial WI regional, and we were 1 match from the finals last...

Re: Tinted Safety Glasses
I agree with Ryan N above. Last year I got all excited and went out and bought some amber tinted safety glasses, only to realize that everything being a different color got on my nerves. I ended up...

Re: pic: Beachbot 2008
There are a couple of reasons this robot will be really good this year:
1. Beachbot's drivers are always amazing.
2. The fact that the lower arms can corral the ball and the upper arms can pick it...

Re: 2008 Game- Overdrive
I voted for Hate it. I wouldn't say I hate it, but I definitely don't like it.
There's no defense. Ideally in this game no robots on opposing alliances would even come in contact with one another....
