Re: On "graciously" accepting
Team 647, being an Army sponsored team, and having a heavy military influence, has a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for our Alliance picks.
If we're an Alliance Captain, and doing the picking,...

Standings?
Does anybody at Lone Star have a way to post the standings at the end of Friday? Or the Friday awards? The links at the FIRST site aren't working.
Thanks.

Re: Is Engineering truly "Glamourous"???
Well, let's see....... I've been an engineer now for about 36 years (BSEE, Clarkson College, 1970) and I can't say I ever felt the urge to be "glamourous." Can't say I ever had the urge to get rich,...

Not sure where you got the idea that the DeWalts break easily. Here's an after action report thread we started after last year's matches, and we didn't hear about any failures. If anyone does have...

Re: Dewalt Shifting Questions
We are using the Y-cables to shift both servos at the same time. Actually, we are using two Y-cables to shift 4 servos at the same time (two sets of CIMs and DeWalts on each side.) It works fine.

Al - Thanks. I knew the output of the Victor was pulsed, but didn't realize the rep rate was that high (Note to self: Read the nice manual.) I was also thinking the meter would read the average...

Al - We're using a Fluke 336 clamp on ammeter to measure our DC motor currents. Am I correct in believing that it should read the average DC current in the pulsed waveform out of the Victor? Is...

Re: pneumatics for 2006 competition?
True, the battery won't be "leaking charge" , but sometimes, with fast match schedules and limited batteries, the battery doesn't get fully charged in the pit between matches. It's nice to be...

Re: pneumatics for 2006 competition?
It's also handy to have the compressor connnected to a battery (safely, of course, with fusing and appropriate wire size) mounted on your transport cart. That way you can top off the air tanks while...

Re: Issue with CMUCam2 Demo application
When you say "the old code" what do you mean? I'm still using the first release of the LabView CMUCam2 App.2006.01.13. I just found the new one today and haven't tried it yet.

We're having pretty much the same problem. After 10 sec or so of tracking the camera/LabView seem to "hang up." Servos go left and down, blank screen on the tracking screen, and if you try to do a...

Wow! Thanks, dude. That is really helpful to old geezers like me that prefer to work from paper vs a screen. It's a LOT easier to print this way. Thanks for sharing.

Re: 12V Battery Maintenance
Al,
PM sent.
If you were going to load test the FIRST batteries for capacity comparisons, what amp draw would you use? C/10 or 1.8A seem reasonable? Or should it be a 20 hr rate?
