Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Robotics Competition Registration Update

Back before we became a district, our team liked to travel to our events. Being forced into a local event is not something I would have looked forward too. We enjoyed playing in Trenton,...

Re: pic: 716 ouput shaft

The full design is posted in White Papers. The square shaft is one of the upgrades in the 2016 gearbox. It shifts on the fly. 716 has used the square dog since 2005.

Re: pic: Inverted CIM 2-Speed Gearbox

I also do not recommend machining your own gears unless you have the time. I have been using Martin spur gears and modifying the hubs as needed. They come in almost every gear size and are...

Re: pic: Inverted CIM 2-Speed Gearbox

You could eliminate those idlers by making your own gear sets. A quick search in the white papers using my name or "2005 716" will show a similar gearbox that we have been using off and on since...

Seems like the GDC did not...

Re: Inspectors please help! Protrusion from frame perimeter.

You should review the Q&A answers to questions Q231 and Q240. Q231 considers the method of determining the frame perimeter. It rules against a wheel being .08" outside the frame perimeter. The...
