Re: Nightmare Repairs At Competition

That was one glorious pizza. Not my fault when the message to me was "here, take this pizza and go get your head ready for elims. No driving on an empty stomach. Don't worry about the robot, it...

Re: Team 2992 - 30 pt Climber - Top target dumper

Why dump only 4?

Take 2x 3pt penalties and score the last two colored discs too. Still a net gain of 4 points.

Re: Best Wheels

MBS has 9" wheels available.

Only downside is you have to buy parts individuality and it can be pricier.

Re: First Official 2012 Game Hint

Not necessarily true. If they were to be done by volume (i.e. a 50gal trash can filled to the brim) they accuracy in terms of numbers isn't as important. As long as roughly the same volume is on the...

Re: pic: Uber 3.0

As a former driver and build team leader, I would highly recommend you re-evaluate your choice of gearing. While 16ft/s may sound nice, it is often hard to control for an inexperienced driver. It is...

Re: 2011 FRC Game Hint #2

Hey... wasn't this image first used in 2005? ;)

Note: if anyone posted something like this, sorry for the double post.

Re: 2011 Philadelphia Regional

Last year was the final year of the contract that was previously set up with Drexel. I believe that there are talks in bringing it back once all the construction dies down.

Re: pic: Enter the Dragons; KTOR 2010

It was a great weekend for STEMRobotics. After hearing that Steve and Foster, KTOR's biggest supporter and sponsor, received the Mentor of the Year award, we were ecstatic and couldn't have asked...

Re: 2010 Lesson Learned: The Negative

My biggest complaint: bumpers.

When rules on bumpers get close to the same length as the robot rules... you have a problem.

1. If they have to be mandatory, then at least let teams choose their own...

The arms are actually resting on the white ball to make it look as if the bots are opening their jaws.

Re: Robot Diversity

The GDC has quite a hard job. They have to create a game that is visually appealing, and has different levels of difficulty built within the game. This allows the rookies all the way up to the...

Re: pic: 321 RoboLancers is

We used a toughbox with a CIM, thats all. It's crazy how similar our two bots are. What style drivetrain do you have? It looks like an 8wd, but I could be mistaken.

Re: Team update 16

Thank you GDC.

You have managed to fix so much with one simple update. Teams now can see the advantages of playing 3v3 to WIN (while close to maximize points) and not 6v0 for just ranking. Also...

Re: Don't count goals scored for the opposition - Yes or No?

This makes 10X more sense than the current system. This gives everyone an incentive to try to win AND not get penalties. Isn't that the goal?

I believe that this current system isn't teaching...

Re: Do you like the seeding system?

No. The ranking system allows teams who have never attended a match with a robot to be ranked in the top eight (Bayou Regional). It also rewards mediocre play and severely punishes the winning team...
