Re: Robot Teams and Gaming

Excellent idea you've got there.

Seeing as though most, if not all FRC students own a computer and use it for some form of gaming, I can see this becoming quite the hit with the community.

Re: Discussion on All-Girl events

I would like to also point out here, specifically to the people who are flaming & bashing me, rather than trying to talk reasonably about my posts, that I, as a boy/man/male (whichever you prefer),...

Re: Discussion on All-Girl events

Alright.
I'm going to stray from my original intention of simply pointing out the massive difference in lunch discussions at the IndyRAGE event, and move on to something I've noticed a lot in recent...

Re: Discussion on All-Girl events

This is not an "anon" account. This is the one and only account I've ever used on CD.

I don't post my personal information, purely because I prefer privacy when using the internet.

Re: IndyRAGE - All-Girls Comp+ - October 1

I do have a sister, and she wants to earn her way through life on her own merits and hard work, and does not expect, nor want, special treatment from society.

Re: IndyRAGE - All-Girls Comp+ - October 1

I do not object to gender bias discussions. What bothers me is the format of these discussions, which makes it seem as though all boys are already biased, and only girls are fit to enroll in college...

Re: IndyRAGE - All-Girls Comp+ - October 1

So, does this mean, as a boy, I should cancel all my educational plans and catch the nearest plane to the salt mines in northern Russia?
For it appears that the planned lunch discussions are biased...

Re: Is Welding Worth It?

Welding definitely helped with keeping stress points from bending and/or partially breaking.
Yes, it is expensive when compared to riveting. But the amount of metal shavings created by drilling...

Re: Will-i-am's quote on a cake

Just like the paper airplanes on Einstein.

Re: Changing Culture of the Team

This has to be the best idea so far. Bringing someone unknown in to fix this sort of thing is a good approach, seeing as it would be totally unreasonable to hate someone you've never met.

As for...

Re: Integrating Encoder Into Gearbox

The shaft should easily hold up to the stress, you should focus more on reducing the profile of the encoder outside the gearbox.

Re: #FIRSTLikeAGirl

Usually I disapprove of pro-girl systems in FIRST, purely because these systems tend to blame the opposite gender for their lack of participation.

But here, you seem to be encouraging girls to join...

Re: Help us fill the gaps in the "Kit Of Parts"

I've made 3D Printed fan brackets before, and I'd love to see something like that in the KOP.

But why stop at fans? Sealed liquid cooling anyone?

Re: Hugs vs hand shakes at opening ceremony

Easily avoided. Just pull out an old PC and put it on the same network, or put it on a different network if you want to be real anonymous.

Re: Best Scaling Bot This Season?

I've gotta say 118 and their grappling hook.
Just the concept of such a thing amazes me, but the fact that they built their robot light just to make it possible... It's too awesome.

Re: Hugs vs hand shakes at opening ceremony

Honestly?
I'm sorry, but I really don't see what the problem is here. Hugs or handshakes, how can either of those things be used in a discriminatory fashion?

I simply hug or handshake based on what...

Re: Lesson Learned 2016 - The Negative

If there's one thing I hate the most in FRC, it's the website.
I mean, they've clearly tried to make it newbie-friendly, but at the same time, they've completely messed up routines for the thousands...

Re: Stronghold Drivetrain Review

This year really helped out with breaking us out of our losing routine of trying to deal with a stock chassis, as I got a 64", 4 road wheel, track system drawn up on CAD.
The only real issues we...

Re: Petition to end the shouting of ROBOT

Yeah, I would agree that shouting "ROBOT!" is annoying, but then again, I have been told by FRC Safety Advisors to yell it in previous years.

So until FIRST officially removes this requirement,...

FRC 4692 Track system

Hello, CD Forum!
Now, this is my first time posting on this particular website. So please, don't take this post too seriously if it has errors.

Anyway, here's one side of the robot. I'll be posting...
