Re: Colson Wheels

525 is using the 4" version of the caster wheels this year. We made a custom hub for the wheels. A mentor of ours who participates in battle bots showed us them and said they are accepted as one of...

Re: On "graciously" accepting

That's one thing I'll never forget from alliance selections...especially being from the team who was "graciously" rejected. Heck...I even have a MP3 of that somewhere around here.

Re: Human Player

I've seen this sentiment repeated many times, but I really wonder how many people have tried. During our last week we had human player competitions on 525 to determine our field players. Our...

Re: How do you mount the encoders to the Gear boxes?

There are some pictures in the manual and on the IFI site.

Try it out...it's relatively self explanatory.

Re: Coming soon: White paper on Crate

Great Idea! Many rookie and older teams are probably looking at building one soon, and a design that is easy to build and operate is on the top of everyone's list.

The Center Goal

I think this is a question on everyone’s mind with major strategy implications. Hopefully this thread can allow us to sample opinions out there on how much the center goal will be used in the...

Re: ***THE GAME OFFICIAL: AIM HIGH***

Great Game :)

I like how the vertical element that we've had to deal with for two years is no longer there. Definetly think this will be more fun than triple play.

Re: **FIRST EMAIL**/Advance Materials List and Autodesk Virtual Kit of Parts Informat

Re: 2006 Official Game Hint Discussion

People seem to be glossing over the possibility of 1v.1v.1v.1v.1 (Every bot for itself). There are definetly some advantages to this configuaration.

Strange clue.

Re: National Instruments Pilot Program Teams Selected!

This looks like a great oppurtunity for all teams selected. It will be a nice piece of technology to work with for some accurate feedback.

525's worksite this year is actually adjacent to a company...

Re: Google chat

I really like this. Very simple and clean (unlike AIM). The only problem here is that anyone I talk to is on AIM. Is there anyway to use AIM through Google Talk like ICQ does?

Re: Why do teams voluntarily do FIRST without adult technical mentors?

Correct. I did over-generalize here. I know our team in the past has had great success at regionals as a student run team. But taking in the big picture, the "professionally built robots" do end...

I was told by judges at the Midwest Regional that they were specifically told to not account for amount of student involvement in determining awards.

NO.

I have to say that the eight dollar fee thoroughly disgusts me. They already know the scores, and they're probably on a computer somewhere. So why not just release them to all the people who...
