Re: Animation HELP!!!!!!!!!!
There's tons of tutorials available on the internet, in addition to the stuff that comes with the program. I'd start with the Autodesk tutorials, and try out a little of everything so each student...

Re: 2010 Safety Animation
That's good. It's not impossible for students to teach themselves, but having someone experienced around never hurts. All of my animators graduated last year so we'll be starting over.

Re: 2010 Safety Animation
Yay, Akash remembers me! Do you guys have an adult (or returning student) mentor or are you still student-taught and run?

2010 Safety Animation
Wahoo! Who's going to be participating this year? Have you guys been practicing your animation or will you be beginning right now?
I was hoping to be ahead of the game, but alas, things never go as...

Re: The Woz on Dancing with the Stars!
Well the official rule is that if someone doesn't dance on the live show, their dress rehearsal is scored. It won't get a very good score, but they DID compete--hours of practice, learning new...

Re: Have you ever....?
Absolutely.
Have you ever had a full (though probably one-sided) conversation with a pet?

Re: Happy Pi Day everyone
I just can't wait until 3/14/15. Pi day will never be as complete for another hundred years.
My fiance was going to propose to me on pi day but decided instead to just go for it in February. That...

Re: 3ds max team number logo
Looks great! I agree that the gears are not very original, though I wouldn't call them tacky. I think they look great, but not very eight-ish. I thought you were team 125 until I read the post....

Re: Fewer Animations?
Ooooh, rough. It's always tough to hear about teams who worked hard for seemingly nothing. On the bright side, you now have experience designing and creating an animation for competition, so it's not...

Re: Future animation leader asking for help
Now don't you think more FRC teams would do animations if they got to make fluffy bunnies dancing with smiling flowers? It would be a great way to interest girls and future students at the same time....

Re: Future animation leader asking for help
But fun, right? Draw whatever you enjoy. I learned to draw from copying pictures out of comic books as I was a kid, and although it's not exactly a classical study of the human figure, it's still...

Re: Future animation leader asking for help
I'm amazingly lucky in that drawing was my passion up until the moment I learned about 3d animation. It's a great piece of advice for anyone though; I've found myself trying to model objects without...

Re: Future animation leader asking for help
xD I got a concussion in gym once but it wasn't really severe. I just wandered around in a happy daze all day. Actually, it was probably one of the most enjoyable days of my high school experience!...

Re: Future animation leader asking for help
Hahah I was just asking most of these questions. Is this going to be your second animation, or have you guys been doing this a few years? This was my team's first shot and it's really hard to recruit...

Re: Animation Year-Round?
I've always found that 2-3 is what works best. It's hard to evenly parse out the work and then get it all put back together in the end. When I was a student, even when we started with 5-6 people,...
