Re: NI releasing/designing new controller for FRC

Same thing here. The only time we ever saw 100% CPU was due to a bug in SmartDashboard that I missed the patch for. Even then it didn't cause any significant issues. Same thing with Java from what...

Re: April Absurdity 2013

My apologies for the mistake. While totaling up scores, your division winner bonus for Curie was accidentally dropped, taking 12 points off of your score for Curie. This correction makes you the...

Re: April Absurdity 2013

Allow me to paint a picture of almost every bracket submitted. 469 has seeded first in Archimedes, and picks 254 as their partner. 33 makes a run for Einstein from 2nd or 3rd seed, but looses to the...

Re: April Absurdity 2013

I'm hard at work, but there's a few technical issues with them, as well as some surprise personal obligations that are sucking up my time. A fair number of brackets have mistakes which are confusing...

Re: April Absurdity 2013

Yeah, that was part of my plan from the beginning for the scoring program. I'm still working on some of the issues in the bracket parser though, so it will probably be a little while before I get...

Re: NI releasing/designing new controller for FRC

So Cross The Road had a table set up today and was answering questions about their part in the new control system. CTRE will be providing the new PD board and Pneumatics Control Module, along with...

Sketch it out and scan it, or do it in MS Paint. I'm sure we won't mind :p

Re: FRC Blogged - SpaceX Internships, our own Mission Control

I don't, but I do see quite a few water bottles. Looks like they've leaked the water game again.

Re: THE HORROR! THE HORROR!

In my experience, often when people blame the FMS for their problems, they really should be looking at the overall setup of the robot on the field. By simply running it in the pits and saying "it...

Re: How is 54" size limit being inspected?

As I understand it, the measuring tape was supposed to be used to get a rough idea of whether they were at risk of breaking the cylinder. They subtracted a portion from the 54" to account for the...

Re: Removing the feeder stations slides

They're removing the colored plastic cover, which is held on by velcro. The clear plastic slide is staying in place

Re: THE HORROR! THE HORROR!

If you roll your jaguar back to the factory firmware (available at the bottom of VEX's product page (http://www.vexrobotics.com/vexpro/motor-controllers/217-3367.html)), the "trusted mode" heartbeat...

Re: Slow Climbers + Fast Pyramid Shooters

Our team also got a similar result, 3/4 reliably with just humans eyeballing the angles. I'm not sure if we got video of it. We're touching the pyramid while making the shots, so defense is a...

Re: Team Update 2-19 and FRC Blog - Week 0 Observations and Stop Build Day

I don't see anything that prevents the humans from throwing the colored discs into the 3 point goal. New prediction: there will be more colored discs scored in the 3 point goal than in the pyramid...

Re: remainder function

From my installation, a grep through the headers folder shows no remainder functions. It's possible I'm missing something, but it looks like it doesn't exist at all in the vxWorks API.

As for the...

Re: CIM->Victor 884->Arduino not working

I've never tried this personally, but if I had to hazard a guess it would be that delay takes an unsigned long as an argument, but you're passing a floating-point time. You probably want to use...

Re: Keep the engine speed

The latter (via GetPeriod()). The issue was that the FPGA declared the motor stalled below certain speeds. We considered the other method for a bit, but decided that it wasn't really necessary to...

Re: Keep the engine speed

I'm not sure of how one would do that (I'm not very mechanically minded), but there are other ways to measure the speed of a wheel. On our shooter last year we had a beam sensor which detected the...

Re: Printing over other text

The data on the driver station is only updated when you call dsLCD->UpdateLCD(). Clear() doesn't make that call, so by calling Clear() you're only clearing out the robot-side buffer, but not updating...

Re: CAN help

If you're trying to do this from the cRIO, you can use GetSpeed() (getSpeed() for Java) on the CANJaguar object.

Re: Printing over other text

Drop the "1" argument when you switch to that. PrintfLine assumes you're starting at the front of the line

dsLCD->PrintfLine(DriverStationLCD::kUser_Line1, "Trigger");
dsLCD->UpdateLCD();

Re: Printing over other text

There's no mechanism to clear a single line other than using spaces, however if you're willing to erase the whole screen, you can use dsLCD->Clear(), which is just a shortcut for writing spaces to...

Those were provided by a second set of plugins which were created last year but not distributed with the main WPILib update. I haven't seen any documentation for them this year, so I assume they've...

Re: climbing question

Even that I'm doubting, since the rules pretty clearly say you can go all the way back down if your climb is ruled invalid:
