Re: [FRC Blog] Diversity and Inclusion Training, STIMS, and the FIRST Youth Protectio

Very pleased to see some Diversity and Inclusion materials come straight from the horse's mouth! I'll have to add this info to our D&I workshop we're presenting this Sat; further resources for teams...

Re: Registration 2017

2479 is an interesting one, I'm not quite sure they had a team in 1993 though. As far to my knowledge, the only team in North Minneapolis back in 1993 was one based out of North High School. We had a...

Re: Moving in the middle of build season

I'd definitely begin preparing for when you leave. I know that we've had challenges on our team with retaining knowledge and expertise when others leave, and we try to make sure all people graduating...

Re: Build Season Schedule Questions?

We seem to build for quite a while during those six weeks.

Monday-Friday: 3PM-8PM
Saturday: 9AM-5PM
Off Sundays and Holidays

That's also assuming we have no snow days, which we get every now and...

Re: 2016 Minnesota Robotics Invitational

Thank you to the Firebears for a totally awesome event, and for the $500 scholarship. Definitely on my to do list for volunteering next year! :)

Re: Registration 2017

I was wondering why my phone blew up with notifications about a half-hour after registration opened. Oh well, here's to hoping that next week goes a lot smoother!

Re: Official FIRST STEAMWORKS Teaser and DLC Pack 1!

After hearing the shovel ringtone, I had this idea I proposed:

What if the game pieces are coal, and the whole idea is to bring coal to your machine, power the steam engine, and cause a blimp to...

Re: When did FIRST click to you?

When I competed at my first regional event, the 2014 Northern Lights Regional. It was definitely then that I realized how truly amazing, inspirational, and fun this program was.

Its this reason why...

Re: Gap Year FIRST Students

I'm planning on taking a gap year after I graduate, and many of our team alumni have as well. I personally think it's just a good idea to focus on college life and the future instead of the FIRST...

Re: What event is your team registering for first?

After much discussion and strategic planning, 2500 decided to apply for the MN 10,000 Lakes Regional first round.

Re: Lesson Learned 2016 - The Negative

One of the things I found particularly annoying is a couple of times I went to pit admin to ask a question I was told to "download the app".

I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly don't...

Re: Being Proactive About Paper Airplanes on Einstein

I personally am the most disgusted at the airplanes made from torn apart spectator programs. FIRST most likely paid a lot for these programs, and I think it's pretty disrespectful to just rip them...

Re: Best places to eat

I'd definitely recommend the Culinaria. It's basically a decked-out grocery store about three-four blocks from the America's Center and is a great place to pick up lunch or snacks while in St. Louis!

Re: Being Proactive About Paper Airplanes on Einstein

I was never too big of a fan of the paper airplane tradition, as it created a gigantic mess, was quite annoying and even painful at times; I remember being hit in the head forcefully by several as we...

Re: Most embarrassing thing to happen to you at a FIRST event?

During the finals of the 2015 MN 10,000 Lakes Regional, I rolled my ankle when dancing in front of the arena to YMCA and fell to the floor.

Of course everyone was watching... :ahh:
