Re: paper: Spanking the Children
I've only heard scouters say this. The non-FIRST spectators like to see, at least from my experience, controlled chaos. A great example of this was 2006. Impossible to scout every ball scored, but...

Re: scouting sheet
Wow these colors hurt my eyes. Very cool that it is one team per page, but personal opinions don't work well in my experience. It would be more useful if you put a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The less hand...

Lol This is a great read! Thank you Jim for putting this together. I am glad we are on the same page on this game, and most of the past games. :)

Re: Sharing Scouting Data at Championships
We got all the info we needed in 2009, and also we had Paul C. for our field analysis for our own field...So, we were set. lol :) The only bad thing was we couldn't be cheerleaders along with the...

Re: Sharing Scouting Data at Championships
Here is a trick I learned from 217. When you are picked on your field and you have a good chance of going to Einstein, get the other two teams on your alliance scouters together. The 3 scouting teams...

High Score 2014
I was looking for a high score thread for this year, but couldn't find one.
The high score with penalties is 420. This was made by 1114, 3683, and 4476 in qualification match number 4 at the...

Re: HTMLish based scouting
My old team tried everything, Sql servers, excel spreadsheets, etc. and at the end of the year we always resorted back to paper and pens. Yes, we had the OPR data and raw match data ran through a...

Re: On Saving Seats
It seems like it is either the whole team rushing to the seats, or the scouters and a few parents to save enough seats for the team. In my opinion, it is much safer to save seats...unless FIRST...
