Re: pic: Input Stage Wear

The gearbox mounting holes are an issue RC has already indicated will be fixed for next season, along with the bearing retention (which was not an issue we had) My intent was not to complain, except...

Re: pic: Input Stage Wear

I unfortunately don't have any pictures of this. However, it looked like it was a gradual wear of the thread on the gearbox plate. The threaded holes (when they failed beyond the point at which they...

Re: pic: Input Stage Wear

I'd like to add, that during our off season, we had issues with the two 10-32 bolts used to attach the bearing block to the gearbox (through the tubing) Namely, the thread stripping, and us having to...

Re: Thoughts on driving in FIRST Stronghold

Not as bad as I originally thought after watching the game reveal - visibility atleast. I remember one game, we chose a draw bridge as a defense, and I couldn't see a good quarter of the field. The...

Re: pic: Input Stage Wear

Can confirm had the same issue on our gearbox and showed Aaron.

This issue really plagued us during games. On the flip side, blowing apart a gearbox and reassembling it at a competition is a really...

Re: The 2056 Streak has ended!

Hats off to 2056 on an incredible streak. They inspire many teams to push harder.

Realistically however, along with their greatness, luck played a huge part in their streak, there's many events they...

Re: Anyone else having problems contacting West Coast Products?

The 12T and 11T pinions use the same "inboard" mounting holes on the CIMs.

We had the locking issue at our event on practice day, and eventually it came to the sheered off 50T gear. Looking at the...

Re: COMM lost way to many times

One common problem (that we had last year) which can lead to temporary power loss long enough to restart your radio is the main breaker. From what I've heard, there are a few every year that have...

Re: Banging the driver station

Our whole driver station was within the 14" width specification - including the clamps. From what we have seen, there is no rule explicitly stating where your driver station must be positioned.

Re: US Digital Shaft Encoder and VersaChassis Hex Shaft

Here's a picture of our solution. It's a 3D printed 1/2" hex to 1/4" D-Shaft (the one on the encoder) coupler. We also have the 3D printed mounting brackets. Probably overkill, but we haven't had any...

Re: US Digital Shaft Encoder and VersaChassis Hex Shaft

It'd be a lot easier if you told us what resources your team has access to. From the looks of it, it doesn't seem you have a lathe. Would you happen to have a 3D printer?

Re: Andy bumper material: rough side in or out

Point noted about the noodles. Have you done any tests to verify this increased friction? When we ran coefficient of friction tests with the typical "rough" outside Cordura, we got completely...

Re: Andy bumper material: rough side in or out

Any reason for this if you're playing offensively? (Unless I've mistaken which side you're putting inward)

Re: Andy bumper material: rough side in or out

This would depend on your strategy, each has their own strategic advantage. I'd advise you to do your own testing, the "rough" side may behave differently than you expect it to on other bumpers. :)

Re: Banging the driver station

It is really simple to secure your driver station. Use the velcro. (hook side on your driver station) This has already been pretty common, but we were surprised to see no other teams were using...

Re: Greater Toronto East Regional (2016)

It was a great event to take part in. 5036 was glad to make our eliminations debut, that too as an alliance captain. Congratulations to teams 2056, 118, 2634, and 746. Congratulations to 1114, 1241,...

Re: Removal of Low Bar Fabric

Any team that has done their due-diligence will know with any human player worth their money, it is already possible - and legal - to get a boulder into the opponents courtyard.
