Re: Gearbox Ground Clearance Issues

Yes, we have thought about this but I would like to keep the gearbox as low as possible for COG and packaging of other mechanisms.

We are looking at the Vexpro 2 CIM ball shifter with 3rd stage to direct drive the center wheels(all wheels are AM 8" pneumatic). I am mostly concerned with going over the rough terrain where the...

Re: 2016 Boulder weight issue

We recieved 9 orange balls directly from gophersport. We originally ordered the rainbow colored balls but received an email asking if we were an FRC team and asked us to correct our order. Out of...

Re: kettering kickoff

Thanks for the videos. Yes, that last match was close. It was a great strategy and you almost pulled it off. Fortunately, we had our best match of eliminations and put up a 5(capped) and 6 stack....

Re: Wireless Packet Drop during competition

We had the same thing happen in our first semi-final match causing us to drop a container and wrecking our elevator when the arm came crashing down on top of it. It was interesting that they chose to...

Re: The Cheesecake Factory - Game Manual Update 3/17

I have a question about a specific portion of the revised answer to Q461. If a team were to supply a ramp to an alliance member to tether to their robot, the rules say that they must also update...

Re: Feeding Noodles Over the Wall

Scott beat me to it.

We did get penalized once in eliminations when it was done in the last 20 seconds. It was late in the match and after a failed attempt he tried to get the noodle into the...

Re: What motors are you using for your lift?

We are using 1 mini-CIM connected to a 35:1 versaplanetary with a 15T sprocket driving a #35 chain to our elevator carriage. It seems to have the power and speed we were looking for.

Re: [Ri3D] The Greenhorns

We are having trouble with our uprights separating and the elevator coming off track. I see that you captured your elevator upright with a set of rollers on each side of the upright. Did you just use...

Re: Fixing gearbox assembly inconsistancies

That was the exact same problem we had with 4 Toughbox Nanos we got for a summer project. We fixed them the same way.

Encoders for WCP SS Gearbox

What are teams using for encoders on the WCP SS gearbox? I couldn't find anything on their website and nothing came up with a search here.

Re: Best Drivetrain options

How about the reverse with omnis in the rear and traction wheels in the front? Is there any advantage for one over the other?

We converted an old kitbot over the weekend to this configuration. It...

Re: [FRC Blog] Kit Hints?

My first though when I saw the size and weight of item B was one of these. How about that for a game piece? But I think the obvious answer is a battery.
