Go to Post I'm absolutely certain there are simpler ways of accomplish the same things. I'm simply not the best that FIRST has to offer in this regard and part of what drives me to keep going is the desire to get better at achieving an elegant solution with as few superfluous processes as possible. - Madison [more]

Re: Half of PCM Not Working?

So the PCM LEDs are not dependant on the valve solenoid circuit being completed (I.e. the valve doesn't have to be plugged in for that LED to turn on)?

We were working on testing the solenoid valves on our practice robot and none of the valves were firing as they should. We decided to test the competition robot...

Re: pic: FRC 2869 - 2016 Shooter

Yeah, I was attempting to indirectly point out that you can't say a wheel is, or isn't, a flywheel based on its weight. Because whether or not it's "heavy" just depends on how much energy you need...

Re: AndyMark Snow Blower Motor Mounting?

So we're talking about a mechanism that needs to resist back driving. I understand the concerns about this motor (trust me, I'd rather not use it) but cost and weight are an issue at this...

AndyMark Snow Blower Motor Mounting?

Does anyone know what the threads on the mounting holes for the AM snowblower motor are?

Does anyone have any recommendations when using these motors? I don't have any experience with them.

Re: Ball Intake Mechanisem

To be honest, this style of mechanism is never going to be as effective as a traditional roller pickup. They're also not particularly easy to build when compared to a simple through-the-frame roller...

Re: New Product Line (Competition Robot Parts)

Yes, they are a press fit. The ID of the tubing is 1.120in and the body of the end cap is 1.125in. That results in a .0025in interference (nominally) all the way around.

I have not tested these...

Re: New Product Line (Competition Robot Parts)

Getting this thin wall tubing in 6061 is hard in this area of the country. It just didn't end up being cost-effective to ship a large quantity of it from far away.

I will continue looking for a...

I love it. Your round tubing method of construction looks very professional.
Any plans to add an active intake?
Best of luck at competition!
