Re: USB MS Lifecam HD 3000 Exposure Issues

I've been having the same problem with some vision I've been running with open cv. Is it possible to integrate that command into the camera capture object? If I could do this in the initiation of my...

Re: Custom PI Loop not working

Thank you guys for all of the help. I'll work through my code today, as it's back to school for me and that means more time with the practice robot. I'll post again when I get things sorted out...

Re: Custom PI Loop not working

It really wouldn't but I'll be honest and say that I was lazy and didn't want to put in the effort to find a cleaner way to do it.

Re: Custom PI Loop not working

I'll take a look at re doing the PI class in the mean time. I don't need the D variable as the shooter articulation and gearing is heavy enough that I don't need the ramp down of velocity of angle...

Re: Custom PI Loop not working

It actually spits out the output I would expect to run the motor.

Custom PI Loop not working

So I've created a PILoop class to handle PID (with no d) for different systems of the robot. I've got different methods for drive base, shooter angle, and intake articulation as all will need...

Re: Questionable Results from Ultrasonic

These IR distance sensors look like quite the feasible alternative. Does anyone have some info on how to implement them? Wiring and programming wise? The ultra sonics are easy as you just read the...

Questionable Results from Ultrasonic

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem...,

We've looked into using ultrasonic sensors from maxbotix to go ahead and try distance sensing for aiming. We did some benchmarks under very...

Re: How to calculate distance from camera using Opencv APIs

Hi!

Depending on your opencv code this is very possible. The way we do vision processing we do blob detection of a particular target (biggest blob always is the one targeted). After we find the blob...

Re: UDP Vision data killing our SmartDashboard?

Sorry for wasting your time on that one. I commented those lines out originally just because they weren't being used and they worn't working when we had buggy UDP code. Now that the UDP isn't...

Re: UDP Vision data killing our SmartDashboard?

Wow didn't catch that. From what I recall though, we did that for other purposes and they still weren't sending out values even when they were un commented. I'll re deploy and let you know if the...

UDP Vision data killing our SmartDashboard?

Hello everyone,

So last week we got vision tracking working on a raspberry pi, and we're using UDP to send the data over to the roborio for vision targeting. So far everything works great. Values...

Re: I2C read from Raspberry Pi to RoboRio

Thanks for all the help so far guys,

Here's what we have so far in terms of UDP programming.

Re: Serial LED Strip

Any reason that you're not using the NEOpixel line by adafruit?

https://www.adafruit.com/products/1376

I've used these ones before and they're pretty nice. I've got an arduino on the robot...

Re: I2C read from Raspberry Pi to RoboRio

Is there any particular reason that you encoded your information to JSON before sending it to the roboRIO over UDP? This looks like a good option to try too. I have zero experience in socket...

Re: I2C read from Raspberry Pi to RoboRio

Thanks for all the replies,

As of right now we are looking into using the serial over the RS-232 port on the roboRIO. All I've got to do is pick up some bi-directional logic level converters....

I2C read from Raspberry Pi to RoboRio

Hi fellow programmers,

We've decided to use a raspberry pi for some side processing on our robot this year. We've got all the code in python on the Raspberry Pi done now all we have to do is get it...

6 CIM Drive with CANTalon

Hi Chief Delphi,

In past years we've used a multitude of different drive trains. Because the RobotDrive class only has support for only 4 motor controllers, we've used pwm splitters to account for...

Re: Integrating navx MXP into past Robot Project

I've got the path to the library added as well, but that location doesn't actually contain the AHRS.h file (that's under the include folder). Here's another screenshot.19512

Re: Integrating navx MXP into past Robot Project

Alright, I tried just adding the navx_frc_cpp to the paths and symbols tree, but that didn't work when I went to try and build. Do I need to specify the path to the library under library paths too?...

I have not gone ahead and bought the ADXRS450 so I'll go ahead and take a look at that! Reading on the website though, it mentioned that the device plugs straight into the MXP port on the roborio. Is...
