Re: What do you know about OBD-II?

I haven't actually played around with it myself, but NerdKits has a tutorial on interfacing electronics with the OBD-II in your car. http://www.nerdkits.com/videos/obdii/

It would probably make a...

Re: TI-89 Titanium or HP 50G?

I would have to recommend the TI-89. I have never ceased to be amazed by what it can do. Unfortunately, the downside of being able to do everything means lots of menus and input to functions that can...

Re: Kind of off topic c programming question.

Well, from what I can see you have a basic logic issue that probably comes from a series of typos.

Here is your code (note problems in red):
/* Find the largest number *'

Vince,

It turns out that when you go to Michigan Tech you manage to find an FIRST students in almost every class you're in. Ask around, mention FIRST a few times. You'll be amazed at the number of...

Re: "Java, Sun SPOT and the FIRST Robotics Competition"

That's very interesting. Java on FIRST robots... not bad. Its really good to get options out there to students, and the more programming languages able to run on FIRST robots the better it is for...

Re: private messages

A while back there was a spam problem on CD. A bot got into the forum by using people's usernames as their passwords. It then sent out PM from normal users accounts, really bad stuff. Brandon's only...

Help with Robot Parts

I am currently working as part of Michigan Tech's chapter of the ASME Student Design Competition. This year's challenge is to create a small (370x165x165 mm) robot to pick up rocks and drop them in a...

Re: The FIRST effect

Another interesting trend that I found is that of searches for FIRST Robotics:

It peaks every build season. :D

Re: Unveiling the All-New FRC 2526 Website!!

Looks good! You've got some good information and a nice layout. How long did it take to make?

My only suggestion is to incorporate your team number into your logo, helps with team recognition.

Re: Ball Color Problem

Instead of changing the colors, FIRST could make one ball striped and one ball solid. It would be easy enough to wrap tape on the orbit balls to stripe them without changing the feel of the balls.

Re: How can we drive on this new floor?

While a great idea...

I think the emphasized part of R06 might disallow that, along with the general logistics of building giant omniwheels. :D

Re: How can we drive on this new floor?

Darn, the first thing I thought was that we should make a walker bot using the wheels sideways. :D

Re: Ball Color Problem

This could probably be easily fixed by FIRST. They could just wrap some electrical tape in stripes around the ribbons of the empty cells. The stripes should make the balls easy enough to distinguish...

Re: How many inches does my wheel go in one rotation?

Don't robotics competitions take place in the same "perfect" environment that basic physics equations take place in.

Re: How many inches does my wheel go in one rotation?

So, if you look at this problem geometrically, one revolution of the wheel means moving a distance equal to its circumference. Therefore, on a 3.75 inch diameter wheel, the distance it travels in one...
