Re: pic: robot elevation

Ummm... maybe you need to lose more weight?
Seriously, that looks like a little too much material removal, and I'm worried about you guys running into other robots.

Re: pic: Team 604 -- 2010 Teaser #1

I hope, I hope, I hope... for tank treads.

However, these parts don't have a tracking groove, so probably no tank treads.

Re: Team 604's Updated Website

My link still works, so I'm happy.
And I personally love the reflection theme, because it does go along with our metallic name.

Re: pic: Team 399 The Tin Man 3d print!

AMAZING amount of detail! Everything, the sprockets, the pneumatic cylinders, the compressor, it's all there...
Great Job! I'm jealous!

Re: pic: Wait, What?

13 minutes is a great machine time. How are you retaining the tread on the wheel?

Re: pic: Team 60 Prototype Wheels

WOWwwww. That is amazing craftsmanship! I especially like the way you have milled the sprockets into the spacer.

Re: pic: Team 604 2009 robot

The video is AMAZING!!! THe camera actually reliably works for the first year and the shooter speed is excellent. If I may say so this may be the most successful design ever (except for 2005:P ). I...

Re: pic: Team 604 2009 robot

Beautiful. Reminds me of a cross between 254's hopper and 114's shooter from 2005. How does it run against our older robots?
(And bonus points to whoever thought of putting lightning bolts on the...

Re: pic: Team 604 Electronics Board 2009

I do like how clean everything is. Are you sure that the battery will stay put or are you going to put velcro between the battery bottom and the board? Just a suggestion.:)

Re: pic: Team 604 -- 2009 Teaser #2

It's probably the plastic pieces cut out that you wanted. My guess is drilled and tapped blocks to ride inside frame tubing for adjustable chain tension.

Re: pic: rookie team 3044 on the move

I love asymmetrical designs! Usually means that a team has done a lot of planning for their final design.

Re: surefire ways to break you robot

Don't loktite the set screw on the CIM shaft.
Go full speed off any kind of ramp.
Not bother making an enable/disable dongle.
Use cheap limit switches to halt your lead screw's travel.
Overconfidence.

Re: POLL: First Music

Ahem, that's the Final COUNTDOWN, not the final Touchdown. And of course, don't forget Sandstorm.

Re: pic: 675 not-so-teaser.

I like it for its simplicity that makes it elegant. The use of slotted aluminum for spacing the sheets is a very good idea.
