Re: A place for a displaced Home Schooler - VA

It's a little far from Richmond, but check with the NASA Knights FRC 122.
We homeschool and our daughter is on the team.

Re: Wiimote Digital Scouting System

Hi,

Last year, we found our batteries to get very hot, and then not work very well on the high setting.

[FTC]: VRC (VEX) AND FTC (Tetrix)

For those of you who do BOTH VRC and FTC, I have a few questions.

Team:
Are the team members the same, totally different or do they overlap?

Field:
Do you have one field and change the components...

Re: [FTC]: FVC (Vex) VS. FTC (Tetrix)

I did get some useful information, especially about worlds. I also got some good entertainment. I've wanted to see the VEX channel with weights for a long time.

I think this is a good discussion...

Re: [FTC]: FVC (Vex) VS. FTC (Tetrix)

We're from Virginia and have competed in Virginia, Maryland and Delaware in FTC using both Tetrix and Vex systems. In VA, FTC is very popular with over 60 teams. In Maryland both FTC and VRC are...

[FTC]: VRC (Vex) VS. FTC (Tetrix)

I would be interested in hearing pros/cons of VRC versus FTC from those of you who have done both. I have a good idea of the cost difference but what about things like what the kids learn and how...

Re: [FTC]: Maryland FTC Championship

So, it's a complicated story....

There is really only one Twisted Bots team. However we have two robots. Members of the team worked on either robot as required. The same two members programmed...

Re: [FTC]: Email Blast: FIELD MANAGEMENT FORMAT FOR FTC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Could you tell us more about thie method as implemented in Florida.

Re: [FTC]: Email Blast: FIELD MANAGEMENT FORMAT FOR FTC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

It seems to me that they need to allow one more person at the field on each team to monitor the FMS, including starting, stoping and watching for it to get out of control. Also the logistics of...

Re: [FTC]: Playing Forensic Roboticist.

Phil,
We have never seen what you describe, and we've run the fms hundreds of times trying to get the autonomous to do what we tell it. Teleop always runs fine after autonomous. We see the opposite...

Re: [FTC]: Common failures with TETRIX

1) Wobbly Brass Bushings. Our team is seeing this.

2) Bending Axles. We haven't notice this. I believe the axles are steel though.

3) Encoder cables. We've definitely experienced this.

4)...

Re: [FTC]: Florida FTC Championship - Live Webcast

Thanks for explaining. I'd love to watch, but I'll be at the FRC Regional in DC. Will it be possible to see it on the net later (not live)?

Re: [FTC]: Florida FTC Championship - Live Webcast

This sounds great but I am curious why you have 25 teams rather than 24. I would hate to see one and only one team sit out.

Congratulation to Team 2818 (G-FORCE) on their Inspire Award. I also want to thank the College of Southern MD, and BAE systems and all the volunteers for the great event.
