Re: Make the RoboRIO serve HTML like the NI WebDash

Check out Spark, you can get a server up and running on an FRC robot in minutes, not hours or days:

Re: Angle Calculation from image of goal

Are you doing linear approximation or using focal length in real life? I figure since atan approximates a line when the camera is near aligned with the goal, the linear approximation would work more...

Re: Angle Calculation from image of goal

We plan on doing this soon, so I'll just share how I expect we'll do it. We'll double check the horizontal field of view (in degrees) of our camera, then find an equation that maps the goal position...

Re: Severe voltage drop

From the photo, it could be that your track width (https://www.google.com/search?q=vehicle+track+width&oq=vehicle+track+width) is too narrow. 6 volts when turning is ridiculous, but 9 when driving...

Re: Petition to end the shouting of ROBOT

Quoted for truth, I don't recall hearing it once either. Maybe it was the venue size, hopefully it was the people

Re: Pointcloud PCD of Stronghold Tower?

I would be shocked if someone had a point cloud already. Perhaps getting vertices from a mesh file is enough? I'm not sure if you're acquainted with CAD tools, but here's a STEP model of the field on...

Re: FRC pocketing

It's probably because 148 isn't cheap or lazy

One simple alternative: use thinner material without pocketing. I've seen a lot of pocketed designs in FRC that could have been made simpler...

Interesting, did you try multiple ports or stick with 5800? I wonder if this is an FMS problem or an issue with Jetty.

I was messing around with Strongback today and decided to also look into the Spark framework: http://sparkjava.com/

Re: pic: Wood Coast Drive V2

Mostly we iterate :) Last year was the first with primarily plywood, so there was little worry about strength (no defense). We'll see if this year is different. Typically we just try to use good...

Re: pic: Wood Coast Drive V2

Looking good, Cal!

It's mostly for convenience. We have a Trotec Speedy 300 (~29" x 17") laser cutter in our workspace that can cut up to 1/4" plywood. Since we have no CNC metal-working tools,...

Re: pic: Wood Coast Drive

For reference, baltic birch plywood is ~0.65 g/cm^3, while polycarbonate is around 1.2g/cm^3 and aluminum is ~2.7.

There are many more factors that determine what material we use than simply density...
