if you have efficient gearboxes the motor should be able to get fairly close to its rated freespeed.

it'll just take a while to get there, but the only resistive forces it would need to overcome...

On a more serious note, I'd suggest really really highly concentrated rubbing alchohol. You use it to clean processors, whenever you need to seat one, because it evaporates so quickly...

The CD was flawed, it failed at high speeds. Its more common than you would think.

The CD is, of course, unrecoverable (call the publisher, they will probably send you a new one if you ask...

we used a 1/4" bolt as a cotter pin for our arms primary joint ("Its a quarter inch of hardened steel . . . it'll hold!").

We sheared that mug twice.

I think we broke every cotter pin in the arm...

Yeah, but it has something like 17 servos. Good luck finding a tiny controller that can deal with that easily. Well, actually, they probably exist and I doubt that they would be ridiculously...

Good luck finding actuators small enough. You would have to use motors from slot cars or something, you won't find a servo that small (without paying top dollar).

CFS3 is the laughingstock of the IL-2 community. IL-2 is the single best computer game I have ever played. I've read an article written by a test pilot (who has flown most of the aircraft in IL-2)...

They way those cones are set up, a gear with widely spaced, narrow teeth would work.


One tooth for each grove.

However the shaft the gear slides on would need to be angled...
